I loved the restored feel of the house. It was a treasure to explore.

If you are taller than 6 feet, remember to duck going through a doorway :)

The host was lovely and accommodating, although the walk was a bit steeper than anticipated from the train station and we arrived sweaty we were greeted kindly and taken care of. The place was lovely and comfortable and it was really cool being surrounded by such history. The host was very knowledgeable about the house and surrounds which made it an amazing place to stay. Kitchen was well equipped and the meat and local ingredients included in the cooking set was amazing quality. Finishing the walk from magome-juku to stay at this place was rewarding, and the bath was so relaxing. We did the oroku comb workshop that I cannot recommend enough, it was amazing to learn a small piece of craft from a master artisan and take home a comb that I will be able to use for many years. The legend around the comb was really cool and interesting as well, thanks to our host Tommy who acted as an interpreter for us to enjoy ourselves even more.

The walk from the station was steeper and longer than anticipated.

Positioned in a Beautiful serene location the historic house has a calming interior with beautiful aesthetics. Wonderful space for our family of 5 adults.
