About this apartment rental

Enjoy an authentic escape in a beautifully restored Caen stone house, in the heart of a charming fishing village that lives all year round.

Here, daily life follows the rhythm of the tides and the comings and goings of the fishing boats, while the salty sea air drifts across café terraces and through the lively streets.

Port en Bessin is also the perfect starting point for discovering the rich heritage and landscapes of the Normandy coast: D-Day beaches, cliff-top walks, bike rides with sea views, the medieval town of Bayeux, the Normandy countryside — and even a stunning golf course with two 18-hole courses nearby.

LA MAISON DE PORT
Tucked away on the village’s most picturesque street, La Maison de Port invites you to fully experience the charm of a place where authenticity, nature, and local life come together effortlessly.

The apartment at La Maison de Port is a delightful, independent duplex of approximately 40 m², designed for two guests. It is nestled in a traditional Caen stone building that has been carefully restored, set just off one of the village’s oldest (cobbled and sloping!) streets.

You enter through a small courtyard and step directly into a bright living area with an open-plan, fully equipped kitchen, dining space, and access to a shared outdoor area — ideal for enjoying a breath of fresh air in peace and quiet.

Upstairs, the bedroom features a Queen-size bed (140 × 200 cm), a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. Its window overlooks the inner courtyard, offering both calm and privacy. On the same floor, in a separate room, the bathroom includes a shower, toilet, and a window facing the front courtyard.

Bed linen and towels are provided.
All windows and doors are brand new and double glazed.

La Maison de Port was patiently restored over the years, with great respect for vernacular architecture and a deep affection for traditional Norman country homes. You’ll enjoy a refined setting that blends original materials, vintage furniture, elegant décor, and carefully chosen contemporary touches.

We also provide a few essentials to help you settle in on arrival. Shops are just a few steps from La Maison de Port.
