Beautiful location and very comfortable cottage

The cottage although small is perfect having high end finishes and is in an area of outstanding beauty and history all around. If you have the stamina there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area some with steep climbs.

Having to come home and the weather was hot, very hot ,to hot infact to be totally active but at least I was not suffering the heat at work. Truthfully there was nothing to dislike with this cottage.

The location was great, the cottage was beautiful. The bedding and towels were generous and lovely and clean. The owners' communication was prompt and friendly.

The stairs are not suitable for children or anyone who might be a little unsteady on their feet. There is a lack of handrail for the first six or so stairs with an unguarded drop to the hallway below. This is dangerous and does not comply with Building Regulations. We brought this to the attention of the owners but disappointingly did not get the impression that they intended doing anything about it as they merely said they would 'take on board our feedback'. Perhaps they feel that adding a balustrade would detract from the openness of the hall, but where safety is concerned that isn't really the point. I'd welcome a response to this post to say they have now provided a handrail and balustrade before someone stumbles and is injured falling onto the hard hallway tiles below. Had this not been an issue my rating would have been an easy 10.
