About this house rental

Located 300 meters walk from the beach, fully restored character house. 135 m2 in a reassuring and relaxing setting. Upstairs 3 large bedrooms, 1 bathroom with WC, On the ground floor, a large space in a decor mixing a current atmosphere and Caen stone, fully equipped kitchen "dishwasher, oven, microwave, large fridge with freezer space ”, a separate toilet Large relaxation room with sofa, television, game console in a cocooning atmosphere. Nursery kit (cot, baby chair) Outside, 300 m2 of land not overlooked, terrace with outdoor table and chairs, weber barbecue. Ideally located 400m from the landing beaches with the pontoons of the artificial port. 2.5 km on foot from Arromanches, 15 km from Bayeux known for being the 1st liberated city in France and the speech of General de Gaulle but also his Bayeux tapestry "registered in the UNESCO world memory register", at 25 km from the Caen World War II memorial. Asnelles sur mer small seaside resort of 600 inhabitants with these typical middle-class houses of the end of the XIX th centuries which line the large sandy beach. Known also for its famous shortbread biscuits, made by craftsmen. A bakery, a butcher and a supermarket are 300 m walk in the small town of Asnelles. Facebook: gîte damat Cardin A deposit of 400 euros will be required upon delivery of the keys. Bed linen and towels optional.

We had a very nice stay here. The house is perfect for a family holiday - with lots of space, a very well-equipped kitchen, a nice garden and of course the great football table. Bed linen and towels were optional. The village of Asnelles is an excellent starting point for exploring the D-Day landing beaches.

This a very clean accommodating property for larger groups. All new updates and amenities. Matthew is very helpful and was waiting for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this property to enjoy a vacation at the central area of the DDay Beaches

Large, spacious and comfy house with a lovely garden in a peaceful location. A short walk from the beach and super base for exploring the area. The house is very well equipped - one of the nicest places we have stayed in in France. Would thoroughly recommend.

We had a warm welcome and helpful tour from the owner on arrival. The house is a beautifully renovated and extended fisherman's cottage and combines character with style. Everything in the house was clean and well thought out. The kitchen was well equipped and all the appliances were of a good standard with great garden furniture and games. Our teenagers became obsessed with the table football! The house is in a quiet road and has a pretty and secluded garden. Its in a lovely village a few minutes walk from the beach. We loved it and would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here as a base for a relaxing holiday & to see the WWII sights. It is modern, clean and well appointed. I would thoroughly recommend it. Communication was good and we received a timely visit when we couldn’t work the TV. The ‘welcome’ was lovely. I left a pair of glasses and they are being posted to me by our hosts. For UK visitors bringing your own bed linen - the pillows are square! Would recommend!

Perfect holiday stay within a lovely village. Really short walk to the beach (my 4 year old managed it fine) which was beautiful. Ideally located to explore all the D-Day beaches but also Bayeux. Host was super helpful and had everything there ready. We loved our stay.

A lovely stay in Asnelles. Near to the landing beaches and other historic sites. Nicely converted Gite ideal for families. Just remember that payment for linen and towels is separate so not included in initial price.

The house is great and very close to the Juno Beach centre. We used it as a home base and had day trips to Bayeaux, Caen, Honfleur and Etretat. The house was clean, kitchen had plenty of dishes. They have a great fireplace which we used on colder evenings. My only complaint is they charge for bedding/linens which I have never experienced before. There was also only 1 dishwasher tab. They have a washing machine, but no detergent. Regardless, overall we were happy with the experience and would stay again.

We only stayed one night but this property would be good for multiple nights. Kind of hidden but well maintained as advertised. New inside. A quick 5 minute walk to the local restaurants and bakery and convenient location to many of the D-Day sights. Only critique is that I didn't like that we had to pay extra (€32) to "rent" sheets and towels. Maybe I overlooked that in the original booking but I don't recall seeing that when I booked 3 months ago. Nonetheless, Matthieu is a good host and I'd recommend the property.
