Françoise was a wonderful host. The house was perfect for the four of us and a quick, easy walk to Gold Beach. It is also close to a little restaurant and a short drive/bike ride to the grocery store. It looked close to the main road at first, but it was very quiet and relaxing (even with nearby road construction while we were there!). We loved the view off the front porch toward the beach, and also the view from the kitchen back over the fields.

Francoise was the perfect hostess and her rental was just perfect! The location was great for visiting the Normandy beaches. The restaurant La Baraka across the street for supper was delicious and there were numerous other places to eat nearby as well. There were some laughs as I didn’t speak French and Francoise doesn’t really speak English but we managed. The hot water pressure wasn’t fantastic - but those were minor inconveniences. All in all - a great place!

Arromanches les bains

Arromanches les bains

A beautifully modern and immaculately clean, home from home, opposite Gold beach with stunning country views to the rear. Located in the small village of Saint Come de Fresne, your baguettes and pastries are nearby in the morning. Arromanches is a scenic 20 minute walk away with its cafes and restaurants. There is a lovely fish restaurant opposite of that walk is a bit too much after a long day. If you are looking for a beach holiday this is ideal. If however, like my daughter and I, you are are also interested in recent history this is also ideal. Located adjacent to Gold beach you are in the centre of the poignient history of D Day landings. Gold beach is in the centre with easy access to the other four beaches, museums and cemeteries. Also within easy reach is Bayeux, Caen and Mont St Michel. To add to all this are the amazing owners Francoise and Didier. They were there to meet us when we arrived and there to see us off when we left (despite it being 7am). Really lovely, warm and kind people who care and wish their guests to have a great holiday and provide all you need to do so. My daughter and I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough. We both loved our week in Normandy here and we don’t actually think the photos fully reflect how truly fabulous it is. .

Wonderful vacation home near historic beaches

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We had a language problem but we’re able to converse and obtain all of the information to make our stay wonderful. The home was in a village across from one of the Normandy landing beaches and had easy access to a paved walking path along the waterfront. The home was also close to the American Cemetary and landing beaches. There was an excellent local restaurant across the road from the house which came highly recommended by the host. There were also restaurants and grocery stores in nearby towns which could be reached in a few minutes drive. Overall, this was one of the best vacation rentals we have used based on the facility, hosts and proximity to the places we wished to visit.

Francoise is a very thoughtful host and the house is a perfect launch pad for our Normandy vacation. Centrally located and close to the beach, groceries and restaurants. Communication was great. The house was very clean, comfortable and modern. Would definitely stay again!
