Ideally located 400m from the landing beaches with the pontoons of the artificial port. 2.5 km on foot from Arromanches, 15 km from Bayeux known for being the 1st liberated city in France and the speech of General de Gaulle but also his Bayeux tapestry "registered in the UNESCO world memory register", at 25 km from the Caen World War II memorial. Asnelles sur mer small seaside resort of 600 inhabitants with these typical middle-class houses of the end of the XIX th centuries which line the large sandy beach. Known also for its famous shortbread biscuits, made by craftsmen. A bakery, a butcher and a supermarket are 300 m walk in the small town of Asnelles. We had a very nice stay here. The house is perfect for a family holiday - with lots of space, a very well-equipped kitchen, a nice garden and of course the great football table. Bed linen and towels were optional. The village of Asnelles is an excellent starting point for exploring the D-Day landing beaches.

We had a warm welcome and helpful tour from the owner on arrival. The house is a beautifully renovated and extended fisherman's cottage and combines character with style. Everything in the house was clean and well thought out. The kitchen was well equipped and all the appliances were of a good standard with great garden furniture and games. Our teenagers became obsessed with the table football! The house is in a quiet road and has a pretty and secluded garden. Its in a lovely village a few minutes walk from the beach. We loved it and would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here as a base for a relaxing holiday & to see the WWII sights. It is modern, clean and well appointed. I would thoroughly recommend it. Communication was good and we received a timely visit when we couldn’t work the TV. The ‘welcome’ was lovely. I left a pair of glasses and they are being posted to me by our hosts. For UK visitors bringing your own bed linen - the pillows are square! Would recommend!

Perfect holiday stay within a lovely village. Really short walk to the beach (my 4 year old managed it fine) which was beautiful. Ideally located to explore all the D-Day beaches but also Bayeux. Host was super helpful and had everything there ready. We loved our stay.

Great house , close to the Normandy beaches.

The house is great and very close to the Juno Beach centre. We used it as a home base and had day trips to Bayeaux, Caen, Honfleur and Etretat. The house was clean, kitchen had plenty of dishes. They have a great fireplace which we used on colder evenings. My only complaint is they charge for bedding/linens which I have never experienced before. There was also only 1 dishwasher tab. They have a washing machine, but no detergent. Regardless, overall we were happy with the experience and would stay again.

Good for more than one night

We only stayed one night but this property would be good for multiple nights. Kind of hidden but well maintained as advertised. New inside. A quick 5 minute walk to the local restaurants and bakery and convenient location to many of the D-Day sights. Only critique is that I didn't like that we had to pay extra (€32) to "rent" sheets and towels. Maybe I overlooked that in the original booking but I don't recall seeing that when I booked 3 months ago. Nonetheless, Matthieu is a good host and I'd recommend the property.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The place is newly renovated and stunning. It's very pleasant, very clean and very peaceful. We enjoyed sitting in the backyard while our kids played. The owner was so friendly and absolutely helpful in making sure we had everything we needed. Also answered our questions and gave recommendations for great nearby restaurants. The location is within walking distance of the beach. We would LOVE to visit again.

A Beautiful Home... Kind, Wonderful Hosts

I cannot day enough about this wonderful gite experience. We had a vacation booked in Normandy with my daughter’s family, including two very young children. The day before we were to leave for the vacation, I found out our previous reservation had been cancelled. I was thrilled to find this property and booked it immediately. I received wonderful and helpful communication from the owners and they were very kind and considerate when they had to come check us in late in the evening after a problem with our rental car kept us from arriving on time. The gite itself is practically perfect. There are three well appointed bedrooms with storage areas for clothing and even usb outlets to charge phones, etc. there is a fully stocked kitchen with everything a family would need to prepare meals, including a stovetop, microwave, oven and full size refrigerator, which is rather rare in gites in Normandy. A wonderful large bath is upstairs with separate shower and tub, and there is a water closet downstairs. The living area is spacious and has a sectional sitting area beside a spacious dining table. The owners were extremely thoughtful, even providing small child sized coat hangers and a child’s pillow for our three year old grandson, rather than a full pillow. There was also a high chair and baby crib sized bed for the one year old grandson. The owners are also quick to provide any answers to questions we had and were very kind, friendly and helpful throughout the stay. The gite is located on a quiet and lovely street bordered by a small canal where we fed ducks. It has a fenced in yard for privacy on warm days or evenings, complete with lawn furniture so that meals could be eaten, or a bottle of wine enjoyed outside during warm weather. It was lovely, safe feeling and peaceful. . . The gite is spotless and clean. The furniture is beautiful. The tv has French, German and English languages. There is a Wii and games to play, although we mostly just enjoyed the quietness of the gite and being together as a family. There were some other games to play that the children enjoyed, and books (including a wonderful French cookbook) to look at. The location of the gite is convenient to the landing beaches, Bayeux and Caen. I would GLADLY stay there again and plan to as soon as possible. I travel to Normandy quite often, and this gite is one of the best I have experienced.

Superbe maison rénovée avec soin. Tout est propre et neuf. La literie est excellente. La plage est à 5 minutes à pieds et le petit supermarché est 2 minutes en voiture ! Nos hôtes furent très accueillants et réactifs à nos demandes (merci pour les délicieux sablés d'Asnelle!). Asnelle est un très bon point de chute pour visiter cette belle région riche en histoire et gastronomie ! N'hésitez pas ! Nous reviendrons !

Wir durften dieses tolle Haus für zwei Wochen unser Zuhause nennen. Seinen besonderen Reiz bezieht es aus der Verbindung aus altem, in der Normandie klassischen Gemäuer, und modernem Anbau. Der Grundriss ist großzügig geschnitten, Küche und Wohnraum bieten ausreichend Raum, genauso der Eingangsbereich, in dem als kleines Highlight ein Kicker steht. Im Obergeschoss befinden sich die Schlafräume und das Bad, alles ausreichend für bis zu 6 Personen. Der gepflegte Garten ist praktisch nicht einsehbar, ein Holzkohlegrill und eine Sitzgruppe stehen ebenso bereit wie zwei Liegen zum Relaxen. Der Strand ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen, ansonsten bietet der kleine Ort einen Supermarkt (Carrefour), Restaurants, einen Bäcker und einen kleinen Feinkostladen. Das Navi hat uns zielgenau vor das Haus geführt. Die Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter hat sich für uns als etwas schwierig gestaltet, er spricht eigentlich nur französisch, mit gutem Willen, Hand und Fuß ließ sich aber alles klären. Wir haben uns hier wohlgefühlt.

Das Haus ist sehr ästhetisch eingerichtet und hat ein tolles Raumgefühl. Sehr netter Vermieter, der stets bei Fragen erreichbar war. Tolle Extras wie JBL Box und großer Weber Grill. Das Haus liegt in Laufnähe zum Strand, einem sehr guten Bäcker, tollem Restaurant „La Cale“ und super sortierten Carrefour. Ein Idealer Ausgangspunkt für die Erkundung der Gegend. Wunderschöne Strände, Städte und Schlösser in der Nähe. Das Haus liegt absolut ruhig und dennoch zentral durch die Nähe zum Strand und Geschäften. Im Garten kann man schön entspannen oder lecker grillen. Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen und danken Monsieur Cardin für 2 wunderschöne Wochen!

Wir haben den Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig, gepflegt und gemütlich. Im Inserat fehlt leider die Hausnummer 4 und die Kommunikation ist eigentlich nur in Französisch möglich, sodass wir bei unsere Ankunft Schwirigkeiten, hatten es zu finden. Während unseres gesamten Aufenthaltes hatten wir es nur mit freundlichen und stehts hilfbereiten Leuten zu tun. Ein tolles Gefühl. Auch die Gegend ist sehr schön, immer ruhig und der Strand ist überwältigend. In unmittelbarer Umgebung findet man alles, von Tankstelle, über Supermarkt und Restaurant. Man kann Sehenswürdigkeiten und Museen besichtigen oder ausgiebige Wanderungen durchführen. Wir hatten sehr viel Freude und können das Quartier sehr weiter empfehlen. Nous avons vraiment apprécié notre séjour ici. La maison est très spacieuse, soignée et confortable. Malheureusement, le numéro de maison 4 est manquant dans l'annonce et la communication n'est en fait possible qu'en français, nous avons donc eu des difficultés à le trouver à notre arrivée. Pendant tout notre séjour, nous n'avons eu affaire qu'à des gens sympathiques et serviables. Un grand sentiment. La région est également très belle, toujours calme et la plage est écrasante. Tout se trouve à proximité immédiate, des stations-service aux supermarchés et restaurants. Vous pouvez visiter des sites et des musées ou faire de longues randonnées. Nous nous sommes beaucoup amusés et pouvons très bien recommander le quartier.
