Welcome to Casa Corazón, just a 5-minute walk from Playa Negra’s black-sand beach. Nestled among lush tropical gardens, this villa is ideal for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Spot sloths in the trees, wake up to the cheerful songs of tropical birds, and hear howler monkeys calling from the treetops. With 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious veranda overlooking the garden, Casa Corazón provides an authentic Costa Rican experience where you can relax, enjoy tropical wildlife, and savor the Pura Vida lifestyle.
THE VACATION HOME:
Casa Corazón combines Caribbean charm with modern flair and thoughtful touches. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood, the beaches, restaurants, and vibrant life of Puerto Viejo are just minutes away, making it the perfect base for relaxed days in the Caribbean.
BEDROOMS
Enjoy the master bedroom with a king-size bed after a day spent at the beach or exploring the local area. The second bedroom features a queen bed plus a single, ideal for families or friends. Both rooms include comfortable mattresses, fresh linens, mosquito nets, and ceiling fans.
KITCHEN
The fully equipped kitchen makes self-catering easy and enjoyable, featuring a fridge/freezer, stove, oven, blender, toaster, and coffee maker. A pass-through connects to the dining area, creating a bright, open space perfect for sharing meals and conversation.
BATHROOMS
The two semi-open bathrooms bring a touch of nature indoors, with greenery creating a calm, relaxing atmosphere. Hot showers with strong water pressure make refreshing after a day at the beach simple and enjoyable. Towels are provided for your convenience.
VERANDA & GARDEN
Step outside to the spacious covered veranda, perfect for enjoying breakfast, dinner, or a coffee while listening to the songs of tropical birds. Spot toucans, colorful parrots, and other exotic birds right from the garden. The lush grounds are filled with fruit trees and unique plants, allowing guests to fully enjoy the natural surroundings.

Our guests can access the entire holiday home as well as the designated areas of the garden. Upon arrival, you will receive the keys to the house and the entrance gate, so you can immediately enjoy your home away from home.

ARRIVAL & TRANSPORT
The nearest international airport is San José (SJO). You can reach Puerto Viejo by car, shuttle, domestic flight (to Limón Airport), or public bus.
LOCATION & NEARBY SERVICES
Casa Corazón is just outside the center of Puerto Viejo de Talamanca. Within walking distance, you’ll find the beach, restaurants, supermarkets, scooter/ATV/bike rentals, a yoga studio, and a tour desk.
A 5-minute drive takes you into town for pharmacies, ATMs, laundromats, clinics, dentists, banks, notaries, and the post office. Puerto Viejo also offers bars, souvenir shops, clothing stores, ice cream parlors, gyms, more yoga studios, massage and beauty salons, and tech repair services.
INTERNET & WORK-FRIENDLY SETUP
The house is equipped with high-speed fiber-optic internet (200 Mbps symmetrical) — ideal for video calls, streaming, or remote work.
GARDEN & SEASONAL PRODUCE
Guests are welcome to enjoy fruits and herbs from the garden when ripe. We grow:
pineapple, cacao, jackfruit, soursop, rambutan, orange, sugar cane, mango, banana, plantain, avocado, guava, key lime, cashew fruit, Jamaican cherry, Colombian sapote, and herbs like culantro coyote, basil, lemongrass, and others.
PERSONAL HOST EXPERIENCE:
As your host, I warmly invite you to join my Chocolate & Waterfall Tour. You’ll discover how chocolate is traditionally made, learn about the use of plants in indigenous culture, and visit a ranarium to observe colorful frogs up close. At the end of the tour, you’ll have the chance to swim at the base of a refreshing waterfall or simply relax and soak in the beauty of nature.
This tour is one of the most popular nature and cultural experiences in the region and can be easily booked directly with me.

We are so happy and grateful for our time in Masca and Manu's vacation house. Both were amazingly generous people and hosts and took good care of us during our stay at their beautiful house. The impressive tropical garden was our view from the house's veranda that we enjoyed so much for 2 weeks. Playa Negra location is also great not too far from Puerto Viejo village but still quiet and relaxing area with very friendly neighbors. I'd highly recommend this place for a wonderful vacation experience.

I can’t say enough positive about our stay here. Our host (“Masca” - Gilberto) greeted us upon our arrival and made sure that we comfortable and knew how everything worked. Prior to our arrival he responded to all our emails. He was such a great host. He took us to get groceries since we did not have a car and even took us to a bike rental place and made sure we got good service. The house is amazing. It sits on a large lot and has amazing birds in the trees. One day we decided to just stay at the home and enjoy identifying the birds and taking pictures. It is not far from Playa Negra, a beautiful beach with black sand. We did not use the bikes to go into town at night as the local streets can be pretty dark and streets narrow so we took cabs. But even that was fun. Masca had recommendations of taxi drivers and it was very easy to get hold of someone. And, EVERYONE knows Masca. All we had to do is tell the driver we were staying in the house next to Masca and they knew exactly where to take us! By the way, the town of Puerto Viejo has many fabulous restaurants in a wide range of prices so that was a fun part of our trip too. If you want a wonderful place to stay with helpful and special hosts. This is it!
