Bedroom: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds, Double (4ft 6in) Bed. Initial logs for wood burner included. Electric heaters included. Sitting-out area and garden furniture. Private parking for 1 car.. A true gem for rail enthusiasts, this Victorian railway station consists of the Station House (ref HW7742) (the former station master’s house), and Porter’s Lodge (ref HW7806), in a peaceful village setting. They sit right alongside the Llangollen Heritage Steam Railway, which winds its way through the delightful scenery of the Dee Valley between Llangollen and Corwen. Station House enjoys a pretty cottage garden, and is decorated with a Christmas theme during the festive season. Porter’s Lodge has a seating area adjacent to the delightfully restored station platform, where you can sit with a glass of wine and watch the trains go by. This is a perfect location to explore the surrounding area, with great walking, bird watching and myriad outdoor activities nearby. Llangollen, home to the International Musical Eisteddfod, has lovely walks along the canal and over the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. Erddig and Chirk Castle (NT) are close by and Snowdonia National Park is within easy reach. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant 0. 5 miles.. Both properties: Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. No smoking.

We have just come back from a long weekend at Porters Lodge. What a lovely place. Comfortable, clean with everything you need (biscuits much appreciated 😉)Steam train running past was a real treat. Parking. Walks. Plenty to do. Will be back as soon as we can. Thankyou

We had an Amazing time in Porters Lodge, the Steam Trains were a great delight to see, Llangollen was a lovely little town, with the beautiful River Dee running through, plenty of nice Restaurants. We also visited Erdigg House, which is worth a visit (National Trust).

Wonderful few days. Just delightful to sit outside and watch the trains go by. Very clean and tidy. Very comfortable furnishings. Our only problem was it's a bit difficult to get into the bed when it is linked as a double because of the angle of the roof. Lots to do in the area but just great sitting watching trains. Highly recommended (but have the beds as two singles).
