Set on the edge of a bustling market town, this charming cottage, attached to the owners home, has everything you need to enjoy your holiday whatever the season. The cottage was also featured in a 2018 episode of ’Escape to the Country.’ One pet is welcome at Glen Cottage, and there is land to the side of the property where you can exercise your pet, and they are also welcome in the owners’ garden for cleaning up purposes in bad weather. Located just outside the bustling market town of Dereham, Westfield is a charming, rural setting with excellent walking direct from the door. It has full benefit from all the amenities of a large town, including an indoor swimming pool and leisure centre, golf course, a ten-pin bowling alley, cinema, shops, cafés, restaurants and local markets, all on your doorstep.
This really is the perfect base for enjoying all that Norfolk has to offer. The cottage is situated in the Breckland region, known as the ‘Secret Heart of Norfolk’, boasting over 100 villages scattered across 500 square miles, making walking, cycling and horse riding popular activities. The North Norfolk Coast is under an hours’ drive, offering excellent sandy beaches, RSPB nature reserves, and popular seaside resort of Wells-next-the-Sea, 25 miles, Blakeney Quay, 26 miles, historic Holt, 22 miles and The Royal Sandringham Estate, 31 miles. Dereham railway station is home to the Mid-Norfolk Railway, where you can enjoy an 11-mile trip through the countryside into the historic market town of Wymondham with its plentiful shops, cafés and pubs. The city of Norwich, 26 miles, boasts a theatre, famous Norman castle, numerous museums, art galleries, cafés, market square, restaurants and shopping malls. Shops, café, pub and restaurants 3 miles.

Very helpful and friendly owners, clean and comfortable cottage with everything needed for your stay provided. Including a tasty home made bread loaf and some really scrumptious biscuits. Set in a nice quiet area but with shops, restaurants etc not far away. We enjoyed a relaxing holiday here and hope to return in the near future. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

Very helpful owners, offering lockup space for bicycles. House well equipped and clean. On a quiet road with views of green fields. Shops in Dereham about 2km away. Took a little time to get used to the low ceilings

A really lovely Cottage to stay in, and is ideally paced to explore the surrounding area in all directions. Our Hosts Tina & Paul really made us welcome, the Cottage filled with everything you could possibly need for a self catering stay. A really quiet place, except for the wildlife of course. Everything was just as we wanted for our kind of holiday. Thank you Tina & Paul for making our time in Norfolk special. V&A
