Perfect for a quiet romantic getaway, a great place to get away for the weekend, and is centrally based for exploring the whole of Norfolk.. 1 step to entrance.

Enclosed rear courtyard garden with sitting-out area, garden furniture, barbecue and summerhouse. Enclosed gardens. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car at the front of the property; additional parking by arrangement. No smoking. Please note: The property has a natural water supply from a borehole. The propertry is also served by a septic tank. There is a fountain in the pond in the garden.. This holiday property is set within the grounds of Yaxham House, the owner’s home, the Georgian Grade II listed former rectory that served the parish of Yaxham. The Old Rectory Lodge is a wing of the former rectory. The property has been furnished in a contemporary style and decorated to create a light and airy feel that complements the character of the former rectory, and is perfect for a quiet romantic getaway. It enjoys an attractive and secluded setting approached by a private road and drive adjacent to the parish church of St Peters. Offering a warm welcome at any time of the year, it is a perfect base for exploring all that the area has to offer.
The Mid Norfolk Railway (MNR) is ½ mile away with trips available from Yaxham to Wymondham Abbey and Dereham. Dereham, 2 miles, offers an indoor swimming pool, cinema, bowling, shops, supermarkets and a market on Tuesdays and Fridays. The property lies within an hour’s drive of the coast, with excellent sandy beaches and RSPB nature and bird reserves. The Norfolk Broads, the Brecks (and its stone curlews), Peddars Way, Norfolk Coastal Path and many National Trust properties are also easily accessible.
The village is at the centre of a network of footpaths and there is a children’s play area and recreation ground close to the church. From the nearby bus stop, regular bus services go to Dereham and Norwich. Restaurant/takeaway and café/Bistro ½ mile.
Can be booked with The Old Rectory Coach House (ref CTX) to accommodate up to 7 guests.

A hidden gem of a holiday cottage. Such a peaceful retreat with its own secret garden. A super base to explore North Norfolk from with a bus stop nearby if you want to leave the car behind. Lovely welcome pack. Owner available to answer any queries. Would highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful week at The Lodge. So peaceful. Perfect for two and a dog. Clean, comfortable, quiet and very well equipped along with private garden. Centrally located to visit beaches, Norwich , Kings Lynn. Sue is a brilliant host and took time to provide information when needed. A bonus that cost nothing was the night skies with no ambient light. And we had a meteor shower as well. Would definitely go back.

Everything you need for your stay and more best place we have stayed in over the years of holiday cottages very dog friendly not just saying it and owner very friendly and welcoming.Cant wait to come back for longer next time
