Situated in Italy's "golden triangle", where the three provinces of Lazio, Tuscany and Umbria meet, Casa Le Crete is a charming farmhouse where the beauty of the landscape converges with the rich history of the region.

The house is well positioned in the middle of the Orvieto Classico wine region just outside the hills of Ficulle, an ancient city whose roots date back to the Etruscan civilization. The location provides a chance for wine enthusiasts to savor the local wines that are a product of the sun-kissed hills and the fertile lands that surround the house. Ficulle, with its ancient roots dating bak to the Etruscan civilization, adds a layer of historical richness to the experience.

Its privileged position atop a slope gives the villa undisturbed 360 degree panoramic views and is reached by a private access road. A place to slow down, relax, observe and discover the riches of Umbria.

Note: It is recommended to have a midsize car for the small roads and towns. The last kilometer to the house is a white road (unpaved).

Staying at Casa Le Crete is a journey through time and culture, where every corner of the farmhouse tells a story, and every view from its windows frames a piece of the Italian countryside's timeless beauty.

It's not just a place to vacation; it's an immersion into the soul of Italy.

The interior is a mix of antique furniture from local markets, modern pieces without pretensions and artistic decoration that reflects the cultural tapestry of the area.

The farmhouse is made up of two separate residences (La Dolce Villa, which is the owners' home and La Dolce Vista, which is the rental property. Together they make up Casa Le Crete. Complete privacy is guaranteed as the owners are never in residence when the property is rented

The two renovated floors of 120 sq m. the farmhouse is located on a hill with spectacular views in an oasis of peace surrounded by 4,250 m2 of land with vineyard and swimming pool

The living room, a haven of comfort, opens up through French doors to reveal a splendid view of the countryside and the glistening swimming pool. A comfortable sofa and wicker armchairs create a cozy retreat, complemented by a wood stove in the corner, promising warmth and relaxation in the cooler months.

Outside, a rustic wooden table and chairs invite you to savor a glass of wine, the company of loved ones, and the beauty of the landscape.

Stepping into the kitchen and dining room the antique oak table can host family and friends gathered around to share and make memories. The kitchen stands ready for your culinary creations. Or should you wish to indulge in the culinary expertise of Grazia, the option for home cooked meals or even a cooking class awaits.

A bedroom with double bed is located on the ground floor with your private ensuite bathroom. The color scheme of forest green and lavender soothes the spirit. Vintage botanical prints collected by the owners are displayed on the walls.

As you look through the French doors your private patio reveals itself, offering another panoramic view of the surrounding olive trees and grapevines. A great place for an early morning cappuccino.

The Second floor consists of two bedrooms and bathroom at the end of the corridor.

The master bedroom is large and spacious with a queen size bed. The artwork adorning the walls is not just decoration but a gallery of original pieces, painted with love and creativity by the family members.

The second bedroom, the 'Vespa room' in light of its transportation theme, is set up to accommodate two children. Versatile and accommodating, the beds can be pushed together for couples or left individually for children, ensuring that every guest find their perfect space.

At the end of the hallway, a large second bathroom beckons.

For your convenience, the washing machine is housed in the technical room just outside the house. Two drying racks stand ready, embracing the Italian tradition of sun-dried freshness.

In the upstairs master bedroom a ceiling fan ensures a gentle breeze.
Three additional fans are also available. The elevation of the property and the absence of any surrounding homes ensures a breeze.

Nestled in the heart of Umbria, this villa embodies the idyllic charm John Denver evoked in “Country Roads, Take Me Home.” As you drive through the winding roads, surrounded by lush vineyards and rolling hills, the villa emerges like a serene haven, almost heaven itself. The air is filled with the gentle hum of cicadas, adding a natural symphony to the tranquility that envelops you. The property is meticulously equipped, ensuring every comfort is at your fingertips, from modern amenities to rustic touches that enhance its charm. The peacefulness here is profound, offering a perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The villa’s swimming pool is a highlight, providing a refreshing escape on hot summer days. It is perfectly positioned to offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, making every swim a picturesque experience. Having said all that when we were there it was very hot, over 37c (100f) most days, and the cooling hilltop breezes mentioned in the description of the property were no match for the fierce evening and night time temperatures. Leaving the bedroom window and patio doors open only allowed the constant hum of the nearby Autostrada to combine with the heat to prevent a good nights sleep. Air conditioning would certainly be a plus! Also the satellite TV mentioned in the property description is not functional. But all in all, it is a magical property perhaps more so out of high summer. Thank you Lisa and Arturo.

Staying at Casa Le Crete felt like coming home! We were so dearly cared for by Grazie, Lisa and Arturo. The kitchen was stocked with wine, milk, eggs and coffee and then a wonderful lasagna dinner complete with a salad awaited us upon our arrival. Every need was anticipated. Outside there are so many options for sitting and relaxing. Thank you so very, very much for our holiday home. We are coming back next year!

Panoramic views from this property are out of this world! It was even more spectacular than we imagined. The villa is situated in a beautiful hilltop amongst the rolling hills of Umbria. The road to get to the villa was a bit daunting after 10 days but manageable. The villa grounds were not attended to and could have been in a better condition for our stay. Piles of Needles from the pine trees were left behind on the pool deck and could have been cleaned up. Chairs were not in the best condition and not the loungers as in the photos in the listing and no umbrella but we did request one and they brought one a few days later. The awning above the dining area was in disrepair and on our last day it came apart and was unsafe due to high winds. The bocce court could have used some tlc however it did seem to have been looked at the morning we were leaving so it was disappointing to have seen work being done when we left and it should have been done prior to our stay. The villa inside had great country charm and quite spacious. Kitchen was well equipped and we even used the charcoal grill. Some more deep cleaning would have been nice as there were many cobwebs about the villa but we understand it’s the countryside and there will be bugs. The bed was comfortable and waking up to the amazing Umbrian views were spectacular! All in all this was a great holiday rental and we enjoyed our 10 days living the Italian lifestyle. Thank you Lisa and Arturo for opening your home to us!

Great place snd fabulous views of the surroundings. Nice welcome (lasagne already) prepared and very detailed information provided! We had a great stay! Beware that you need a appropriate car to manage the gravel road to the house which is also close to the A1.

Casa Le Crete is a dream come true from the moment we arrived to the last moment before we left. The rolling mountains, farmland, villages up on mountains, and 360 views never got old. Walking the roads amidst wild flowers and fields of growing vegetables made our mornings. Visiting Fabro Scalo and getting to recognize some of the villagers. Having a cappucino and pastry like a native at the local espresso bar. Even when the days became hot, the cool evening breezes allowed us to eat outside at the Casa. Hanging near the pool and watching the multitude of different magnificent sunsets. Some late afternoons, watching the swallows swirl and play above us and then come dashing down for a quick touch on the pool's surface. The ducks, the Quackers, greeting us in the mornings. And the accommodations were comfortable and home-like. We already miss the peace and beauty! Thank you to Lisa and Arturo for sharing such a special place! Susan and David
