Stairs are very steep. Small fridge and prep area. Shower silicone requires replacement.

The location is 10/10, easily walkable to all the best parts to see in Amsterdam. The view from the room is incredible and it was so nice to sit with a coffee and look down at the boats gliding past on the canal. The visits from Max, the very friendly cat, were very welcome! The room itself was comfortable and clean and perfect for a weekend stay.

Staff was very helpful at check-in and throughout the visit. That raises my rating to 10! Location is great. Room convenience amenities were well thought out and supplied. The room was large for the two of us and has tall ceilings and combination wood adding to the lovely character which makes it comfortable and definitely not a standard chain hotel room. The front window sets out a bit and is pleasant to sit and watch the canal activity and creates a contemplative space within the room which helped relax during the day. Great view of the canal! Also the room was on top level, so that mitigated noise at night. This location is in a great location, not too far from Centraal Station and easily walkable to the city center for more dining and attraction options. There are a few nearby bars, and coffee places and a German themed restaurant a few blocks away which has an interesting nouveau German cuisine, if you can call it that. And certainly you don't have to walk far for other interesting bars/restaurants. There is a nice niche supermarket a few blocks away which helped with stocking up on snacks, water and comfort food. Bathroom is a wonderfully designed bathroom and very comfortable which compensates the additional steps up from the bedroom.

The stairs! But it is central Amsterdam! Take note this is classic Dutch canal structure - Gabled Architecture. So the steps are narrow and steep. There are sturdy handles to guide you along the way and staff instructed us on the best way to navigate the stairs, so not so off-putting.

The location and view over the canal and the cleanliness. The room was quite spacious and the bathroom although small was nice. Tea and coffee was an added bonus. And Willem our host was just fantastic, very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom sink was too small but that is only one very small negative. The rest was perfect..
