About this house rental
Located down a long, private, tree lined road that is directly on the ocean it is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. In the morning it is nice to sip a cup of coffee on the deck and watch the local lobsterman harvest his catch out in the bay. You might see one of the eagles or osprey swoop down to catch a fish or ride the thermals over the house. Seal may be seen from time to time sunning on a rock just of the shore or chasing fish for a meal. Deer may be seen grazing around the woods and marmot are seen at times.
The shoreline is a great spot to explore the tide pools and hunt for sea glass at low tide. Feel free to launch kayaks and paddleboards from the beach. You can bring your own or they can be rented on the island. We own the only other house on the street (more than 400 ft uphill from the cabin) that shares the beach access.
Just 10 mins from Acadia, 15 min from downtown Bar Harbor, and 10 minutes to the quiet side of the island, it is a quick trip to most places on the island. There are many quaint lobster pounds and restaurants within a five to eight minute drive of the house including the top ranked lobster pound, The Travelin Lobster. Local favorites also include Sweet Peas and Mainely Meats. All have great outdoor dining.
Like lobster? We have all you need to cook up a great lobster dinner at the house.
The log cabin has been a loved vacation spot by families for 25 years. We bought the cabin in November 2021 and renovated both bathrooms as well as completely re-decorated the whole house. We also own Bar Harbor Cedar Chalet just up the hill from this house.
We rent Saturday to Saturday from June- October 12 except Saturday 6/27- Sunday July 5th (8 nights). Please reach out to me directly to book that week. Otherwise we have a 4 night minimum due to Bar Harbor’s town regulations for vacation rental houses.
We have a firm no pet policy so all guests will be comfortable in the house. No parties or smoking as well.
We have an outdoor camera by the front door that looks at the driveway.
