Stayed for 6 weeks at S.R. Marmon property. Perfect location; easy access to local sites: Old Town, zoo, balloon park, Petroglyph National Monument, etc. Saw hot-air balloon flights just about every day at sun-up. Some even flew RIGHT OVER THE HOUSE! Neighbors said it happens just about every day. Quiet and friendly neighborhood. Bit of "traffic hum" from Interstate 40, but just background noise. Nice bike path leading over to the diversion canal, and then along to a covered picnic table before looping back into the neighborhood again. House was beautifully landscaped and decorated with local flair inside. Tile floors throughout, and all on one level making it easy for those of us with mobility issues. Open floor plan made it feel very spacious. Fantastic wood carving over the mantel with fluctuating lighting. "Refrigerated air" made it very comfortable inside the house even during some of the hot days in June 2021. Beautiful flowers and trees outside. Dewberry plants along the side of the house had giant dewberries; excellent for eating. Backyard patio was perfect place to sit and listen to the birds: white-wing doves and others. Roadrunner came calling to the patio door several times. Leticia was EXTREMELY HELPFUL throughout our stay. She wanted to make it our "home away from home", and she did just that. Even added some Hallmark channels to the cable when we asked about that. There was a VHS player, but no DVD player so we took advantage of the cable. There were ample supplies when we checked in, including toilet paper! A "goodie basket" in the master bathroom had first aid supplies, toothbrush and toothpaste, among other things. Convenient to stores for an extended stay: well-stocked Wal-Mart just down Ladera toward Unser, and Walgreens a block further up Unser. Also a Dollar Tree at Coors and Sequoia for some extra things for the kitchen. Smith's Grocery Store not too far away. Lots of restaurants nearby, plus DoorDash would deliver. Ladera Golf Coiurse just a few blocks up Ladera. Beautiful public course. Also a convenient place for hot-air balloons to land on several occasions. After 6 weeks, will really miss that pretty little house. Thank you for sharing it with us, Leticia!!

I really didn't want to rate this facility as I didn't use it but kept getting emails from VRBO to rate the stay so here is my story: I booked and paid for the house a year earlier for the week of the balloon fiesta in 2022 ( the 50th ). Somehow the house became double booked but wasn't notified until I attempted the check-in. I was really mad. Initially I couldn't even speak to the owner. With limited options because the entire city is overpriced because of all the people in town for the event, I am glad I had lots of other balloon pilot friends who worked with me and everyone in the house had beds to sleep in. After I had made these alternative sleeping arrangements the owner did reach out and convey her sincere apology about the misunderstanding and offered as much room as she could give so that our group and I wasn't sleeping in our cars, but after driving 1600 miles to get there to find the house DOUBLE BOOKED I honestly just had a bad taste in my mouth for this home owner. She did cancel the reservation right away so I could get my money back as soon as possible and did make sure I wasn't out any money if it wasn't all refundable, she even offered her place in the future at little to no cost. It tells me it really was an honest mistake, but it is still a sore subject.
