About this house rental
1860’s Farmhouse has been completely remodeled and updated with designer touches in every room. Located right near the Olympic Rowing Venue and a short drive to downtown Gainesville. Home is three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. Two bedrooms on the main floor each have their own fireplace and smart TV. Master bath has large walk in shower with two shower heads and claw foot soaking tub. Additional bathroom downstairs also has large vanity and walk in shower. A large bedroom upstairs has two queen beds and one twin bed with a trundle. The upstairs living room holds a queen sleeper sofa. Keeping room downstairs has a large sectional. Cook’s kitchen has everything you will need and large custom dining table makes it possible to enjoy each meal with amazing lake views. The front of house has double rocking chair front porches and the large back porch leads to a grill and picnic table. A single slip dock is on the property for guest to dock a boat, sunbathe, or fish. Also a large fire pit for your enjoyment. Alpine Village in Helen Ga only 30 min drive, Atlanta Botanical Gardens only 5 min drive, Dahlonega Ga only 45 min drive ( Gold Rush museum). NASCAR Hall of fame Dawsonville Ga only 50 min Drive. Downtown Gainesville only 5 min drive.

The home itself was absolutely beautiful and appeared just as described. It was completely redone and well-maintained. However, the drone photos don’t show how close the house actually is to the main highway, which unfortunately made our stay less peaceful due to constant traffic noise.We were also woken up before 8 a.m. on our first morning by a crew of landscapers working right outside on the porch, with multiple blowers and mowers going at once. Later that evening, someone knocked on the back door. After asking several times who it was with no response, I lifted the blinds to find a man who identified himself as the owner. He said he wanted to introduce himself and let us know there was firewood, which was already visible next to the door. While likely well-intentioned, the unannounced visit felt intrusive and uncomfortable. Overall, the home itself is lovely, but the proximity to the highway, early landscaping noise, and unexpected visit from the owner made it difficult to fully relax. We will be back in town next year and will be looking elsewhere.

The property and house were beautiful. The host was super nice. There wasn’t a wine opener so he brought us over 2. We had a couple issues. We were unable to use the dock. The furniture was molded and green and there were about 10-15 wasps nests all over the roof of the dock. We are at the lake and couldn’t even use the dock which was the reason you choose to stay on the lake. We were unable to get in the water and use the dock. There were also 2 white chairs in the dining area that are dirty and stained really bad. We had to put towels over them to sit in them.
