About this house rental

Located on the North end of Tybee, Whitecaps is a breathtaking historic home that offers your family a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Dating back to 1897 this home will charm you with its unique beauty and abundance of history. Whitecaps is one side of a large duplex home located in the historic Fort Screven area of Tybee, in a quiet residential setting across from Jaycee Park and only 200 yards from the beach access which is a short walk just across the quiet road.

Upon entering you are greeted with crisp white walls, high ceilings, and beautiful pine floors that will lead you through the home. The foyer opens into the light-filled and spacious living room with plush seating. The light pours into this room from the 2 large doors that open up onto the furnished porch. The living room features the original fireplace (decorative only) and mantel with built-in bookshelves on either side. The room is accompanied with a large flat-screen TV. While you relax on the plush sofa, be sure to check out the elegant pressed tin ceilings and rich architectural details throughout the home.

The living room opens into a striking formal dining room with accents of exposed brick and natural elements. The polished glass dining table will seat up to 8. The dining room flows into the renovated kitchen with beautiful beadboard cabinets and stainless steel appliances. A small breakfast table awaits for you to enjoy a morning cup of coffee.

Just off of the kitchen is a bedroom with a double bed and an attached bathroom. This room is perfect for the early riser. From the kitchen hallway, you will find a staircase leading downstairs to the renovated red, white and blue bunkroom. The bunkroom is furnished with a double-on-bottom twin-on-top bunk bed, flat-screen TV and plenty of seating. Off of the bunkroom, you will find a bathroom and a separate laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer.

When you venture up the double staircase from either the foyer or the back hallway, you will find 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The first bedroom you come to is the Primary Suite, furnished with a king bed, large flat-screen TV, and abundant storage space. Attached is a large spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom is light-filled with 2 large windows and furnished with a queen bed and a day bed. The 3rd room has 2 beautiful brass twin beds and a window seat. In the hall, you will find an additional bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and pedestal sink adorned with retro black and white tiles.

Guests will enjoy the added amenity of the large fenced semi-private courtyard with an outdoor dining area and outdoor seating for 4. The fire pit in the courtyard is decorative only but is a great space to gather in the evenings.

This home is ideal for friends and family reunions or to accommodate the perfect girls’ trip. Additional amenities at the property include WIFI access and many special touches throughout. This home is not pet-friendly. There is parking for 2 vehicles.

Had a wonderful stay in historic home. Would have loved to have seen pics of the house in earlier times. Was very happy to find a house we could book for 4 nights v. requiring 7 nights during summer month.

The photos are somewhat misleading. Rooms small. Lots of stairs. We considered the age of the home, but maintenance could be much better.
