Breathtaking cliff top farmhouse with deserted beach

Park is such a lovely and magical place to stay - a truly authentic Irish home. Driving up to the house (after passing through 3 gates) the expanse of the sea comes into view and Park looks right over it - it’s picturesque and perfect and you can hear the sea from every room. The house itself is charming and well maintained - the kitchen is well stocked and functional - the bedrooms and 2 downstairs bathrooms met the needs of our family. The telly was on the blink (we wanted to watch the World Cup) but that just gave us an excuse to nip into one of the many great pubs in town and Park has a great book case containing all the best Irish writers. There’s a few odd cobwebs which is to be expected for a house this old - but overall the house is clean and welcoming - we were blessed with great weather so we had our meals outside.The most brilliant thing about Park is the secluded and private beach which we took full advantage of and we saw seals most days - there’s also some great wildlife surrounding Park.Arklow has some great pubs and restaurants - and are always welcoming and friendly and you can find some of the best and most beautiful hiking trails nearby. Overall it was a good stay, beautiful property with a charming farmhouse and lots of character. Could do with a better clean - lots of cobwebs. Could have been remedied with a quick clean when you know guests are checking in.

As a family of six adults with ages ranging from 24 to 82 we had a wonderful time at Park. The cottage was perfect for a get away from it all holiday especially once you got used to the low door frames! Quiet, remote, spacious and well equipped with comfortable beds.As we were blessed with great weather we were also able to make full use of the beautiful grounds and the almost private beach. We spent hours just watching the colours change, the seals and the sea birds in the cove and the hares running around the garden.Colin and Fleur made everything easy and checked in to make sure we were OK.Only mark lost was for the fact that the property description mentions a hot tub when there was not one (that we could find anyway!).Despite that minor issue would highly recommend this property if you are looking for a quiet, relaxing break.

I can’t imagine finding a more iconic, historic cottage on its own private piece of paradise anywhere else in Ireland! If you love character, authenticity, the sea, & a peaceful, private setting, this is the place for you!Our adult children loved it as well & we were able to take the DART (the easiest way!) into Dublin a couple times during our week’s stay to enjoy city life & see the sights. Other days/nights were spent making a couple dinners, playing euchre or cribbage by the fire, laughing & being silly together, reading or walking the beach…. “Park” is a once-in-a-lifetime” place to experience a more quiet side of Ireland’s incredible charm & Colin & Fleur were very kind, accommodating & always available to us!
