Ashford Village: Birch Hill House is situated a short stroll to the picturesque village of Ashford. Located approx 30 miles south of Dublin city and airport, it is ideally located for visitors to this wonderful part of Ireland. County Wicklow is known as 'The Garden County ' and there are many private gardens and stately homes which open to the public close by. Just a short stroll minutes from the house however, is Mount Usher gardens, which was voted the “Best garden to visit in Ireland” by BBC Gardeners World The shopping courtyard features a wonderful restaurant and there are myriad specialty shops with the best of Irish food, furniture and crafts on offer. Also in the village you can enjoy a drink of Guinness in front of a log fire, while working up a hunger to enjoy a tasty meal in one of the two fine restaurants.

Lovely lodge in a beautiful part of Ireland conveniently located close to Dublin and great places to visit in Wicklow! Pete and Una were amazing hosts with great communication before and during our stay.

Kitchen set up worked great for large group around the large kitchen table. The only drawback was that there was no fireguard around the kitchen stove. The kitchen stove provided a homely and welcoming feature but without a guard we had to be very careful with the children

Our family stayed for 8 days and enjoyed every moment. Amazing accommodations and Pete and Una were super helpful. We had a fire every night while catching up with one another. Our 2 year old granddaughter was very comfortable and loved going for walks in the area.It was a 10/10 for all of us!Thanks Pete and Una

We can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this property! We were a group of friends and family getting together to visit and explore this part of Ireland. Not only was a space perfect for our group with its multiple spaces to gather our large group to catch up, but the area has gorgeous scenery and activities for all ages. It benefits from its closeness to Dublin, of course, but there are so much to see within a couple minutes drive! Hope to visit again soon!

We had the best time staying here, highly highly recommend to anyone looking for a trip to ireland or staycation. The property was fabulous, impeccably clean and fully kitted out with everything you might need. They had even though as far ahead as to have a stair gate available to put in the stairs for guests with small children like ourselves. They also have an outdoor fire pit which was perfect for making s’moresThe property is in a fabulous location with lots of activities for days out 20 minutes drive away.And the hosts were amazing, so welcoming and super responsive to all our questions. The perfect location for a couples get away, girly trip and family vacation. I can’t wait to return!

There aren’t enough words to describe what a wonderful house and hosts this home and family are. We had our entire family there for our 40th wedding anniversary. The house was everything we had hoped for and Una, Peter and their sons were very responsive and charming. The location was wonderful and afforded us access to everything. Go and stay here!!

An excellent property. The photos matched the reality. Very comfortable and spacious for our group of 8. Lovely outdoor seating area. Easy parking. Great access to local grocery, Mount Usher Gardens, DART station only 20 minutes away at Greystones with 3 all day parking. Could not be happier with our stay. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic stay here. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating and the house was great to hang out in and cook in. We were families with kids and they loved the place so much we had to come home every evening for a bbq and marshmallows by the fire. Also near Glendalough and Clara Lara which they loved. We had a great time staying here and the hostess, Una, was incredibly friendly and helpful. We made day trips all around the Wicklow area from this convenient spot and with a house full of kids this was a perfect spot to enjoy the evenings by the fireplace. Una ensured the bed setup was properly arranged for us prior to arriving, oriented us well to the amenities, made recommendations for local dining and activities, and helped us get a few things back that we accidentally left after checkout. I would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Ashford or the surrounding Wicklow area.

Thus property was exactly what we were looking for in the wicklow mountains. Its convenient loction to dublin made it an easy pick. The stay wqs grat, lots of room, fantastic outside space, beds were numerous in every room and each one had a full bath.

I was traveling with friends and family for my 50th. This place was perfect for our group. The only thing that could make it better would be maybe a how-to guide to the house and maybe a list of local restaurants/pubs/markets in the area.

This is a fabulous property if you want to really switch off - it has a very cosy and relaxing vibe. Beds and sofas & chairs are all very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Showers and bathrooms are excellent also. The only slight negative is that the WiFi is a bit slow and unstable, but perhaps this actually helps “switching off” and relaxing more!! This was the perfect location. Perfect configuration of rooms, each bedroom has a bathroom…perfect outdoor space…wonderful kitchen… it worked for our family. Over a 33 day period we had 18 people, ranging from 5 yrs old to adults staying with us in the house. The most we had at one time was 10....the house could certainly handle it. Una, Pete, and son Luke are the greatest hosts....prompt answers to questions always. The Wicklow area has so many things to do, enjoy, and take in. Already figuring out how to do it again. You won't be disappointed if you book this house!

Highly recommend this lovely house for a family stay. We used this location as our home base, while seeing the sites in Galway, Belfast & Dublin. You'll definitely need a car to get around. Grocery stores, cafes & restaurants close by! We enjoyed several evenings sitting around a roaring fire on their roomy patio.

We were with 7 golfers in this magnificent house. More than enough space. Very nice kitchen and sitting-room. All the bedrooms had their own bathroom with showers and toilets. We as a large family had a brilliant stay at The Lodge,this is our 2nd time to stay. There is plenty of space for us all to relax and enjoy and be together.We were celebrating my Husband's 70th Birthday . We brought board games to play and also made smores on the fire pit in the garden which we was so much fun,we danced and laughed and made great memories.The beds are so comfortable,great kitchen with all the utilities you need .we made a Sunday roast dinner and sat around the large table plenty of room for us all . Garden space so good and the grandchildren enjoyed it. Our host's Una & Pete are so friendly and helpful ,thank you both so much for looking after us all,it is a real pleasure to stay at your beautiful lodge and look forward to staying there again

A pleasure! We stayed for a week, a handful of adults and some of our young (almost adults, mainly). The house is great, just look at the pictures. Great kitchen/living room, with a nice wood stove for the joy of it. Ashford is a great starting place for tours to the coast, e.g. to Wicklow, as well as into the mountains. Don't miss Glendalough, btw. So we just had lots of fun, and enjoyed it. Highly suggested.

We met here with family. We live in USA. Family lives in England and Scotland. House was great. Had everything you need. Great location. Every couple loved having their own room/bathroom. Plus there was plenty of room for our 3 year old grandson to play. Cute town. Una and Pete were great to deal with and attentive to needs.
