Amazing staff and food, shame about the Deluxe rooms
Breakfast was plentiful and staff were very attentive
I booked two nights for my cousins 80th birthday. Booked 2 "Deluxe" rooms. One for my Canadian cousin and his wife, both travelling here from Canada to meet up with other cousins living in the county and near Ashford, and a second room for me on my own, because a single room wasn't on offer but Booking .com got my booking for single occupancy. When I paid up on check out with the owner Padraig, the owner, who was at the small reception desk, he shrugged his shoulders and said that because I booked through Booking.Com he couldn't give me the single occupancy rate. Padraig asked me whether I had enjoyed my stay, while he attended to his computer screen. I told him that there was only very dim light in the room, not enough for make up or to read. He told me he had had complaints about the light before, but brushed me off about my having to pay 400Euros for my room on my own for two nights to look after my 80 year old cousin. I told him bathroom light very dim too. Also no small table and comfy chair in the room to sit and enjoy your cuppa. You can make a lovely cuppa but have to sit on the edge of the bed to drink it. His response was that he never advertised that there was a comfy chair and table in his Deluxe room. Food lovely though, and lovely staff but don't stay here overnight. I told Padraig that his advertising about the Deluxe room was misleading. He acknowledged that he meant only that it was the bed which was deluxe.

A great family run friendly comfortable establishment!
On first impression the hotel is a little maybe old fashioned, but the bed was very comfortable and all the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The food was definitely on the better side of pub fare!
There wasn’t too much in the local area

On arrival met with such a warm welcome. The staff were so friendly in the bar and the restaurant and the service was fab. The food was really good aswell. Loved the little touches like the make up remover wipes. Perfect location for exploring Wicklow.

Lovely place to stay but high price for an Inn as it definitely isn’t a hotel.
Ashford is such a beautiful little village only a two minute walk from Mount Usher Gardens. The room was clean but the old style decor and small window left it dark. There were no chairs for sitting on and no table, apart from a dressing table stool. This meant you had to lie in bed to read or watch tv. My husband was disappointed with the bare minimum of standard tv channels too. When we walked into the restaurant the first thing we both noticed was the well worn table tops. The food, however was excellent. We stayed three nights and we thoroughly enjoyed the food each night. Cooked breakfast was excellent too but there was no buffet for anyone who just wanted cereal or fruit. The staff were more than helpful but the bowl of muesli I ordered was far too much and they didn’t have the fruit I requested (a banana). The breakfast room is used by the public and Friday morning was busy and noisy with the local builders having their Friday brunch. There is a beautiful area outside for enjoying drinks. Unfortunately the rooms (possibly 8 of the 12) overlook this. We were lucky because we stayed mid week but we did wonder if it would have been noisy at the weekend. We stayed in room 101 which was right at the entrance door to the reception area. It did mean that there was noise as people were checking out each morning. There is no one at reception but there is a phone to dial for assistance. Usual one of the bar staff are happy to help.
We would have preferred at least one chair instead of the beautiful free standing antique mirror as we had no where to sit in the room. A buffet for breakfast would be nice so you can select your own food and the tables in the restaurant could be doing with a revamp.

Enjoyed everything but noisy room position
The quality and size of room and bed. Very good dinner and breakfast.
Room 101 was very noisy due to window opening directly adjacent to main entrance doors and pub garden therefore very noisy. We had to close windows on a hot day making the room even hotter. There was no air conditioning.

A lovely, quiet, delicious break after a busy bus tour around Ireland!
The on-site restaurant was delicious! It exceeded expectations in food deliciousness and the lovely servers, who were friendly and welcoming. I tipped them, which seemed to be unexpected and appreciated, as opposed to expected in USA! It felt private, and a get away from touristy areas, after our bus tour.
Getting here without a private car was not info the Inn was able to give. We could have taken a bus (#131 0r 133, I think) from Dublin. We took the train to nearby Wicklow,. and Uber (which was a taxi, ~$20), bus was possible, I think, also) They could have had more info on local bus transportation to near by areas. However, the lovely ladies in the restaurant looked up and directed me to the bus stop, where other local ladies helped me figure out that there were options to take a bus to get to nearby sights. We did book a wonderful taxi to drive us around for a day, but could have taken a bus to the same locations (saving $150) but it was right for our needs, on this vacation.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough. If only every hotel was up to this standard .
We had a fabulous stay right from the start. The staff are amazing, helpful and friendly people always welcoming. As for the food very tasty with a good variety to suit all tastes. A very busy place but so well organised.
Nothing. Though we made the owner laugh when I said that the hairdryer flex was too short.

Mostly good.
The parking was easy. The room had a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom was spacious and there was a bath. Rooms were fairly sound proof.
Breakfast staff were pleasant. And the delicious breakfast served promptly.
We went eager to eat there early in the evening. Lots of tables were free and not reserved. The table for two offered was in the thoroughfare and not conducive to a relaxing meal. We requested one of many tables for 4 and were denied one. We enjoyed a lovely evening dinner at a restaurant down the road. The N11 was accommodating and the meal delicious.
There was no decaf coffee in the room. This was available with breakfast.

Nice hotel with friendly, welcoming staff.
Innkeeper was very helpful and friendly. We arrived earlier than was expected and our room was ready. I asked that the housekeeper not use artificial air freshener which the hotel doesn’t use but the housekeeper remembered my request and took extra care with the room. Restaurant is very nice too serving an excellent made to order breakfast and because it’s served in the dining room I ordered a double espresso cappuccino.

We had a wedding nearby and stayed here, they were very accommodating and allowed us to check in early. The room was spacious and comfortable. All staff were so friendly and the breakfast menu had so much variety and was freshly cooked. We really enjoyed our stay here.

A pleasant stop at a traditional inn
There is no lift to bring baggage to upstairs. Instead the staff were helpful and kindly helped us. Although the trafic noises can be heard in the bedroom the location is really easy to find once in Ashford.

Average but overpriced.
Everything was just okay, we all expected better for 110euros per night.
We arrived soaking wet on motorcycles, took ages to get someone to reception. No drying facilities and had to ask for the heating to be turned on. Food was average and at breakfast we had to ask for everything as it was totally waitress service.

A Winner!
Very friendly and helpful staff+++. Delicious food+++. The room was clean and spacious; very comfortable beds. Outdoor patio was lovely with beautiful flower boxes.
People hung out below our window at night talking. Happily, it started to rain so they had to go indoors- then I could fall sleep.

A central location for a visit to the Wicklow Mountains .
Our room on the ground floor faced onto the pub area and was noisy with little privacy. Request a second floor room .

Breakfast was really good quality as was the food served in the restaurant and bar. They have a really good chef working there. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Good location.
