The lodge itself was amazing and the location

I thought the hot tub was included, but apparently you have to pre order it. Never got told this until I had to text and ask when I got there. Netflix kicked me out after a certain hour as someone else was using it. Had no other access to anything via the projector after that

Lovely getaway

Hot tub and outdoor shower were absolutely fabulous. The view from the Sunriser was beautiful. Lovely area, lots of birds too. Close walk to the beach and to a hike up Tara Hill, but also just 10 minutes by car to Gorey for dinner out. Good facilities in the room which allowed us to make breakfast and lunch easily. Nice, clean accommodation and friendly staff.

Bathroom door was a bit stiff and hard to open at times (sliding door), but that's a very minor complaint.

Comfortable cottage beside the beach.

Excellent location, guaranteed peace and quiet.

Fixtures and fittings could do with upgrading. Loose taps and a shower that doesn’t drain properly lead to a feeling that the lodge could do with a bit of TLC.

We would stay here again.

The wild rooms are a short walk from a beautiful sandy beach and local shops and cafes that offer anything you might want or need. They offer peace, privacy, and comfort. They are welll equipped for a short stay and we loved the garden area to relax after a day enjoying the sunny south east.

Couldn't locate a hairdryer in two of the window drawers. Couldn't open the third to check. Wasn't a problem as it was too warm to use one anyway, but something to note for future.

A lovely quite location, but the Wild Room was too small for our comfort.

The location Tara Hill is lovely, quiet and peaceful. We had a wild room: Stargazer. The bathroon is nice with a good hot shower The singing birds are wonderful. The home cinema concept is nice.

Wild Room for us as a couple are too small for comfort. There’s no room for normal chairs and a table. And hardly place for some luggage. The fridge and the bathroon ventilator make a lot of noice. The unit is very warm when it is sunny weather. Open windows mean musquitos and flies in your room. High bushes blocked the sea-view, but be could admire the beautifull skies.

A total switch-off

We recently stayed at Tara Hill Estate for a much-needed couple’s escape, and it was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled in the peaceful countryside and just a short distance from the stunning Saline Beach—where we enjoyed a beautiful swim—this property was the perfect blend of tranquility and luxury. The estate itself exceeded all of our expectations. The facilities were modern, incredibly comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need. It’s clear that every detail has been carefully considered to make guests feel at home. The views were absolutely out of this world—breathtaking sea views that we couldn’t get enough of. One of the standout features was the privacy and quiet the location offered. It felt like our own little haven, far from the noise and rush of daily life. The welcome pack that was emailed to us ahead of time was another highlight—it included every bit of useful information we could have needed for our stay, making everything so easy and stress-free. We’ll definitely be recommending Tara Hill Estate to our friends and family, and we’re already looking forward to returning ourselves soon. A truly special place!

Everything. I am still shocked as to how much thought has been put in by the hosts. The most comfortable, clean, equipped and beautiful self catering property I have ever come across. It really is a home from home with the most comfortable bed I have ever had. I was travelling with my 2 young dogs on their first trip away and so was quite anxious. That disappeared as soon as I arrived. A beautiful welcome card and 2 dog bowls meant the world. Thank you Ben and Vanessa for welcoming us into your paradise and you are doing a great job.

Lovely location, perfect for a quiet get away. Very nice hosts, good communication.

The bed and sofa (sofa bed) are not the most comfortable. You are asked not to light the stove which was a shame. The blinds on the velux windows are very difficult to close and let in a lot of light, not ideal if you are hoping to have a lie-in.

Lovely Novel Glamping experience

A lovely welcome card and deserts were left to wish me a Happy Birthday. The host greeted us when we arrived A very handy online guide and map was supplied before our trip so we could get tips about our accomodation, local takeaways and shops, and plan activities. Beautiful quiet private accomdation in nature-perfect for couples! Loved the projector for movies and the outdoor shower for after our sea swims!

No aircon-it was very hot in the rooms and my partner couldn't sleep one night. We couldn't leave the window open as a lot of bugs came in the window It might have been handy if a small amount of cooking oil or washing up liquid could have been supplied for our trip.

Unique accommodation with great host

Host - tremendously helpful. See below with issue. Pods are individual and ideal for a short stay

Well not a lot, but Booking.com allowed us to book a pod which it said dogs were allowed in. When booked and paid, turned out no. We were moved to the lodge, but that was double booked on our arrival. Ben managed to move us to a pod (ideal as that is what we wanted), but we could have been really stuck if nothing available. Hedge in front of ‘view’ window needed a trim to get the best of the fab view. Lots of auto emails about the stay that fill your mailbox

We will definitely be back.

It was always quiet and peaceful. Beautiful walks and tracks within walking distance. The accommodation was dog friendly. There was freshly produced cows milk nearby. Plenty to do for a number of days and loads of information leaflets in our accommodation of local interests to see and do.

The only small issue was the spiders and their cobwebs above the bed. We will get even worse with our small nags and say it might be no harm to have a sign for location of bins for doggy poop bags.

Dreamy time in wild room

Absolutely everything! The room is clean, comfy, has all appliance you'd need (stoves, cutlery, plates, toaster, kettle, etc.). We specially enjoyed the projector for movie nights ! a lovely note was also the picnic blanket that we used at the beach. To note we don't have a car, but you can walk quite easily to the beach and taxis can come and collect you.
