Excellent option in peaceful location handy for Placencia village

Peaceful location, easy walk into centre of town and gorgeous beach along the sea (10mins), and also a few nice options nearby. Bed was very comfortable, and a/c worked well which was very important as there were no windows in our room. Good to be able to borrow kayaks and bikes for free.

No windows in room. We didn't use the restaurant but it looked very expensive compared to other options. No swimming from hotel (sea grass) - though town beach a short walk so not big problem.

Super happy with our stay - loved the sunset!

The dock in front of the property was wonderful to sit, sip a cocktail and watch the sunset (which was stunning!) The balcony was large and had a lounge chair - great for curling up with a book while overlooking the water. The property was in a quiet area.

The property is in on the south side of Placencia, with more docks and activity. I believe you could swim there but it might not have been very nice - however, we could easily walk a short distance to another swimming beach that was sandy.

Comfy and great location for enjoying Placencia

Large comfy and clean room with a kitchenette where they provided coffee which was a nice touch. The bathroom was also great with a very powerful and warm shower a real highlight after lots of lukewarm dribbly showers elsewhere on our trip. There was a nice beachside area with chairs to relax. The staff were friendly and collected and dropped us off for our onward journey.

No real view from the bedroom as we were at the back of the property.

Comfortable & friendly for the budget traveller. Good vibe.

A quiet location while being close to town. The standout for us were the staff! They were fantastic, friendly and also flexible with our dietary restriction. Great water pressure and hot showers were so pleasant after being in the ocean. Also, If you head out to the private pier at night you might see some interesting sea life. It’s great to have access to kayaks and bikes.

American football playing on the tv all day took away from our sense of a tropical getaway. Felt a bit uncomfortable with the owners and their party sitting all day in the middle of the restaurant, like they were overseeing the staff.

great value, friendly and helpful staff

Staff are wonderful. Met us at the Placencia airport, took us to the water taxi the next morning. Then did the same thing in reverse at the end of the week. They remember if you have been there before and are extremely accommodating. Location is walking distance to everything. We have stayed there before and will again.

Beautiful, relaxing, no rush or pressure to do anything! It was all about me and they did deliver.

I met the most amazing staff at Alan's Paradise Resort. I had Kay serving me hot coffee and a breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. Julie served me dinners and some delicious Belkin beer which is made right in Belize. My most memorable meal would have to be lobster tail with a baked potato with all the trimmings. Alan always wanted to know if I was enjoying myself. Yes Alan, I had the most amazing vacation and your resort, staff and kindness made all the difference. Thank you to Jeffery for always making sure that I had enough towels and toiletries. Thank you everyone for making this special xo

Perfection

Fabulous location, beautiful scenery and really quiet. Bikes and kayaks are freely available and there’s a small beach and a great pier too. The restaurant is very spacious and a good range of food and drink options. However the rooms are the jewel in this crown, large, immaculately clean and serviced everyday. We had no 7 and we had white silky sheets and white fluffy towels with an abundance of hot water in the shower and the washbasin. Soap and toiletries are provided too and there are loads of sockets. Alan’s is a short walk from the bigger beach with more bars and restaurants. The staff are fab and the manager is so helpful too. Alan is ever present and has a wealth of knowledge and a dry sense of humour. We would love to return

Nicely situated on the beach, on the more quiet part of town, but nearby the restaurants and shops. Nice big balcony with nice shade or covering when the rain came down.

Fun in the Sun

The owners of the property will Make it like you’re visiting your your favorite grandma and grandpa they will make you fill right at home. They have the best staff. Some of the best food I had came out of Allen’s resort. If you can make a suggestion on a dish they will try it for you.

Not much of a swim able beach but free use of kayak to public beach was fun.

Super clean room. Great management! Excellent menu for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The food was excellent! Better than what we experienced elsewhere in town, Thanks Julie!! Another plus was hanging out with Alan, the owner, who is on site, all day, every day. Nice guy and very accommodating. It is tucked in down a crowded back street and a narrow alley but not to worry, on the short walk from the parking area we enjoyed talking to several of the neighbors. The entire town is filled with nice people without the hustle I've felt in other Belizean locations.

Can't think of a thing I'd have wanted different. Definitely the most layed back vacation I can remember.

Great hotel, but lack of peaceful sitting areas and prevention again flooding brought down our stay

The booking manager was lovely - very kind, and welcoming. The complimentary kayaking was fantastic. Beautiful premises, and great location. The showers and AC in the room were great.

Two major things. 1. Room flooded on our last night from one overnight rainstorm, which damaged some of our property, including a $90 computer charger and all our card games we brought. The staff was apologetic, and provided complimentary breakfast, which I appreciated. However, the room should have had a lip or some way of preventing water spilling from outside. Surely it rains a lot in Placencia, and this issue is known? 2. We couldn't find anywhere peaceful to relax at the hotel outside of the rooms. There was an outdoor restaurant and lounge chairs but for most of our stay the owner was either watching reality tv very loudly in the restaurant or watching videos on his phone with loud whatsapp notifications sounding on max volume, from before 7am in the morning. Such a shame, because if only the owner watched tv in his own room, the common area would be so nice... but we had to spend all our time at other hotel common areas instead paying for juice/coffee to stay there. Apart from these things, the hotel was great and we enjoyed our stay.

The property is lovely. It is only a 5 minute walk to the main street so you have some quiet. The food was delicious. The staff was so friendly and extremely helpful. My favourite part was they offered bikes with locks for free. I had the oportunity to explore the town and ride all over. It was also fairly priced. We went during off-season and loved it.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was great, down a long alley and right on the water.

My room was the only thing I didn't like. It was an interior room in the middle of a hallway. It had only one small window in the bathroom that faced a brick wall two feet away. I felt claustrophobic in the small space with no window. I think they have other rooms available that look out on the ocean. I wish I had known the options when I booked it.

Superb

It was a wonderful place For my wife and I . Simple yet very clean room. No extras like coffee pot or microwave but a refrigerator. Best hot water shower we had on our belize trip. Loved the access to the bikes and kayaks. We had breakfast there most mornings and it's great. Pick up and delivery to the bus station was also very helpful. Staff very accomodating. Right on the water.
