With honey coloured stone and climbing blooms, Wren Cottage is a quintessential Cotswold holiday cottage which sleeps four guests, in two bedrooms, with a family bathroom. This characterful Grade II listed property has an open plan sitting and dining area with a wood burner, the perfect setting to curl up around as the winter nights draw in. The plush, colourful bedrooms with original beams are a wonderful place to rest your head after a long day exploring the local area. Wren Cottage is also dog friendly!

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

The cottage was great, we have stayed in stow many times and the location was perfect. The cottage had everything we needed however could have been prepared more for a holiday with a toddler. Ideally a baby gate set up prior to arrival. This was probably the only thing for us which would have helped a lot. I should have specified this prior to visiting so probably my fault.
Parking generally was ok, it was a little tough to get a space if you left through the day and come back later on. It’s first come first served but it’s free and right outside the cottage row. Parking was also found on the main road.
Staff were quick at replying but because it was an agent you were bounced from pillar to post sometimes for simple requests like early check ins etc… check in is from 5pm which is a little late in my opinion. I did ask for an earlier check in but was only confirmed on the day.
Overall we would return, for us it had everything we needed the decor was a little dated downstairs but it was nice and clean.

We loved our stay at Wren cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold. The cottage was fantastic the classic furniture and a very up-to-date kitchen. If I can give a little bit of advice the shower was modern but the dividing screen kept falling open and water from the shower got onto the bathroom floor. For the rest we loved it.

We had a lovely stay in this little cottage which is perfectly situated for walks around Stow. The only issue with this property is the cleanliness, it needs a serious deep clean. There were cobwebs in every single room and the carpet looked like it hadn’t seen a hover for quite some time. The shower door was also broken so wouldn’t stay closed but we managed to wedge a towel so the door stayed put. It’s hard to believe the cottage was in such a need of cleaning when you consider check out is at 10am and check in is at 5pm. That’s 7 whole hours you have to do some serious cleaning, there’s no excuse. The location is ideal and the cottage itself is very cosy but the cleaning really needs attention
