We loved our stay at the Cedar House! Comfortable beds, as well as couches and many other seating choices. The only thing I’d add is a TV in the upstairs bedroom. Bathrooms are great and everything is wonderfully supplied with everything you need. The completion of outside furnishings is what is provided by nature! Just Beautiful!!

The cabin is really cute and has a lot of character. It was nice to sit outside and listen to the creek while reading a book. The pictures on the listing do seem a little dated as the property looked different and could use a little TLC. There is not much privacy in this house as curtains are used to separate rooms and the upstairs master bedroom/bathroom situation is interesting. The Swamp Cooler worked excellently to cool off the house as it was pretty hot during the day when we were there. The cabin is very rustic and is in the "country" -animals, livestock, lots of bugs-so if that's not what you're looking for maybe try something else. Overall my family enjoyed our stay at this house and would stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property! It was quiet, relaxing and restful but a short drive to the hot springs and downtown Glenwood Springs. The host was super responsive and helpful when we noticed the propane tank was empty! We will definitely come back.

Great location to Iron Mountain. Convenient to Palisade. You are in a very rural area, and not a concern if you want privacy. Thoroughly enjoyed our time, and the house was very comfortable. Only concern we had was coming home in the late evening. Roads were extremely dark and we missed the house! Really could use something to light the way. Turn into the drive was also extremely tight and, if your aren't careful, you could hit the fence. Make note that you are responsible for providing your own bath essentials (soap, shampoo, conditioner). I did not realize this until after we arrived. But, this is a beautiful cabin to relax in and get away from the city.

Stayed at the cabin to get away from the fireworks over the 4th (very frightened dog) and this more than met our needs. We loved sitting out on the many decks, enjoying the sound of the creek and seeing wild turkeys and the mini donkeys on the farm. Charity is a fabulous host… very responsive and helpful in answering questions, even those not related to the home itself.

The photos do not due this home justice. It is gorgeous. Close to everything. We sat on the beautiful porches and saw so many birds, hummingbirds, wild turkeys, and even some donkeys. You've got everything you need at this serene home. Silt is three miles away with one of the finest restaurants on the western slope. Seriously. Make a reservation at Miner's Claim. We enjoyed a quiet stay in a natural setting on this property. The home is unique and the stream side lot very peaceful. Respectfully suggest some landscape tidying and cleaning, for instance sweeping the deck and trimming some bushes. Gorgeous place, could benefit from a touch of TLC. Slept well here and was able to prepare tasty meals in the kitchen. Happy we chose this property for our long weekend.

My husband and I were hoping for a quiet place to refresh, and we found it in this property! It was so lovely to sit on the deck and enjoy nature with the sound of the rushing creek! Communication with Charity was constant and clear! Nearby activities (Rifle Falls and horseback riding in Glenwood Springs) and delicious restaurants (Miner’s Claim in Silt and CO Ranch House in Glenwood Springs) made our long weekend perfect! Highly recommend!

This property is a bit out of the way and rustic but very charming and we enjoyed our stay. Loved the sound of the stream at night and all of the indoor and outdoor entertaining space. There was even a ping-pong table and foosball in the unfinished basement which we enjoyed. Bring your own paddles and balls as the equipment is on its last legs.

My family plus dogs stayed here in March. We had a great time. The cabin was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the game room and the peacefulness of it all. It was so nice falling asleep to the sound of the stream outside. My son and I drove into Aspen/Snowmass every day which was a bit of a trek (probably about 1 hr 15 min each way) but we got used to the drive quickly and actually enjoyed it as a way to wake up in the morning or decompress at the end of the day. The traffic wasn’t bad either (a little on the way back, but nothing major). All in all, a lot of bang for the buck here. Shopping is close enough - Walmart, etc. The restaurant in town “Miner’s Claim” is off-the-hook. Highly recommend it. Just make sure you make reservations. As mentioned in other reviews, cell service didn’t work for us (AT&T) but the house Internet worked great the entire time. WiFi calling worked fine too.

We went for a relaxing girls weekend and loved it! We arrived finding deer in the back field! The house is very unique! Definitely built with love! It has plenty of outdoor space to relax and listen to the creek! It has a little reading nook upstairs for cold days that is a great view of property! The chairs however were not that comfortable but still a cute space! I booked again with my husband for summer because it has to be beautiful with everything leafed out! The host was super responsive and told us about the homes history! Great stay!

Cabin was true to pictures. What a unique place. I was easy to get to actually from I70, but definitely off the beaten path. Comfortable for all of us to stay. Had what we needed ot be comfortable. When we had a fire alarm malfunction, we got a quick response to get it repaired. Would definitely recommend this cabin for a relaxing and comfortable stay.

Pros: This is a very unique cabin that was clearly made with love and care. I was impressed with it's cleanliness and everyone enjoyed the deer that would walk by every morning. Cons: There is no cell service so you're in the dark until you're at the cabin and logged into their wifi. The wifi went out on our second day for about 24 hours. Charity was helpful but it we had to drive the 30 min to Glenwood Springs to use wifi to inform her of the outage. So just be aware how off the grid you may be and plan accordingly. Speaking of, bring a firestick for the tv if you want more than Netflix (earlier generation of the app).

The cabin was gorgeous, unique, perfect. We loved our stay, and would hope to stay here again on any future Glenwood trip. The home was better than the pictures. We had plenty of space, the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, etc. We couldn’t stop admiring the woodwork and special touches in this cabin during our stay. I could even hear the stream from my bedroom at night. First class!!

Beautiful property! Lots of big windows & character. We loved it! Close to town, but far enough to be peaceful. Lots of hummingbirds and wildlife. Divide Creek is down a steep drop-off. The sound of the creek is magical! Tire swing mentioned in directions is gone. Arrived after 5:00 on a 90 day. The 2 swamp coolers had not been turned on. Most of the house cooled off quickly. Lower bedroom was still 80 degrees late into night. Two box fans were provided. Missing some screens, so only some windows/doors could be open to draw cool air through. Lower bedroom is divided in two by a curtain. Queen bed in back, double bed (futon) on other side. Curtains were lacking on some bedroom windows or didn't reach the edge. Huge shade trees around property helped block some morning sun. Large upper bedroom stayed cool. A railing on one wall overlooks the living space and was covered by a half curtain. Beautiful decks & patios around whole house. Wish spider webs, dirt, and bugs had been blown off or swept. Deck & exterior had hornet nests. My 5-year-old grandson was stung twice on the back of his leg. We sprayed about 20 nests but ended up inside most of the time. Upstairs bath has an open top (no ceiling) with shower. Downstairs has a clawfoot tub w/shower head. Plenty of hot water. The house is older and creaky with a real cabin vibe. Bugs made their way in where it was cooler so we had to spray those too. Bring extra TP, paper towels, and ice (just one ice tray in the freezer).
