Top location for getting into Avignon. Beautiful tranquil setting spoiled by road noise.

Characterful, comfortable, old house with vintage decoration and accessories. We enjoyed eating on the terrace looking out over the Rhone valley, and when it was very hot we spent days by the fabulous swimming pool. Véronique was a helpful and responsive host, and even gave us lifts to the train station.

We arrived by train and the host was so kind to pick us up from the station, and take us to the house. She was always available for additional requests, whether it be towels, coffee machine or things to do, and the house is just great: a swimming pool in a fairy tale kind surrounding, the house itself had a beautiful terrace with enough shading when it is hot and at morning summer sun when it was cool. Beds are very good. There is some noise from the road downstairs. But this didnt bother us much. The house is clean and has enough space. The town of Avignon and Arles are close by (easy reachable by train) and great cities to visit. A real treat, this house and the host, recommended highly!

beautiful old-fashioned house with a lovely garden; well located (close to Avignon) we enjoyed the relative isolation and want to go again there soon

It is difficult to describe in only a short paragraph all the nice things about Veronique's house. The location in the Les Angles suburb of Avignon was perfect for exploring the region, with easy access to highways in all directions. The old village of Les Angles was beautiful, and Avignon and Villneuve du Avignon were a quick 5-minute drive away. The house itself was surrounded by trees on all sides, seeming isolated in a forest, and was quaint looking, well designed and completely comfortable with plenty of light from large windows and from the doors which opened from every bedroom to the front terrace. Veronique's decor was exceptionally beautiful, and felt very traditional. She also shares her excellent collection of classical music. We spent many hours sitting on the terrace enjoying the views and sipping wine. We had several very warm days so the pool was very much appreciated also. Veronique herself is charming...it was truly a pleasure talking with her. If you are visiting this area and will have a car, it's hard to imagine you could find a more pleasant place to stay.

We were two couples staying at Veronique’s house for a week. The location was perfect for our first visit to Provence: 5 minutes from downtown Avignon, 1/2 hour from Arles and Ste Remy, and an easy drive to many beautiful villages. There were great restaurants nearby in Avignon and Villaneuve du Avignon, and a very large supermarche just a few minutes away. The main market in downtown Avignon was amazing. Veronique’s house is a gem. It is on the side of a hill, completely surrounded by beautiful mature trees such that the suburban location feels like being in the countryside. There is a wonderful long view over the Rhone Valley from the large terrace along the entire front of the house. The living room, dining room and all bedrooms have doors onto the terrace. Veronique’s art and other decoration, and her collection of classical music, all enhance the ambience of this French country home. The very private pool, separated from the house by very short walk down the hill, was perfect for the few days that our weather was somewhat hot. And the house itself, with its thick masonry walls, never became uncomfortably warm. Veronique herself is quite the charming lady, and speaks English well enough that our unfortunate shortcomings in French did not cause any problems. I highly recommend this house for anyone looking to stay near Avignon.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other people. We wanted somewhere a bit private that captured the village atmosphere of Provence and this fitted nicely. It was a 10-minute drive out of Avignon so we could still go there if we wanted shops or to eat out. It was a bit hard to find as it is tucked away at the foot of a little medieval village but Veronique gave good directions. The house is very homely and had it been a bit warmer weather we would have used the lovely pool area a lot. We really appreciated the terrace off the main living area and would sit out there on nice days soaking up the sun. My only suggestion would be to replace the pillows in the bedrooms as they were not very comfortable.
