We really enjoyed our week in David's apartment. It felt like home right away and his art collection gave it a real sense of history. The location is away from the crowds on a quiet street but close enough to walk to the center of town. It's close to the local train station which connects to many other cities in Provence, making day trips very easy. The garden is a quiet delight for breakfast or at the end of the day. David was very easy to communicate with and we hope to return in the future. Thank you David

The apartment is beautiful - spacious for 2 but plenty of room for 4 people. We loved David’s eclectic art collection - it adds so much character! The garden is a peaceful sunny oasis. As it was autumn, with slightly chilly evenings, we didn’t use it as much as we may have earlier in the year. It was good to be slightly away from the central honeypots of Avignon, but with everything in easy walking distance.It is also close to the central train station, so perfect for a day trip to Arles, which is a wonderful city with a very different character. Overall, the apartment is very nice. Lots of room and well-appointed, including a well stocked kitchen. The potenial down sides are that it's a bit of a walk into the center of town, about 10 minutes, 20 to the Pope's Palace. Also, the back bedroom smells damp and moldy so that could be an issue for those with sensativities. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and easy and would stay there again.

The apartment is in a quiet residential neighborhood close to the ramparts, and a reasonable walking distance to the center of Avignon, the train station (not the TGV-the local trains) and is generally convenient. The outdoor space is very nice and would be a real plus in warmer weather. We stayed 6 nights in mid November, however, and it was too chilly to be used. The kitchen, although small, is adequate for breakfast and lunch type cooking and it would be a shame to miss the local restaurants as most were good to excellent. There are several varieties of coffee makers from French Press to Espresso and Mr. coffee. The refrigerator is large by European standards. There was a generous supply of coffee and a welcome bottle of wine. The wine opener could stand replacing, and knives could do with a good sharpening. Others have commented on the eclectic art collection. It is a little overwhelming to be honest. Particularly the large statue of the Infant of Prague in one of the bedrooms, which can be startling in the night if you get up to go to the bathroom. Speaking of whic, the toilet enclosure is very small, the supply shelf is very high and the handle to the door came off several times during our stay, as did the doorknob to the adjacent bedroom. We had some initial difficulties with getting the heat to operate and upon contacting the owner, were referred back to the house instructions. We finally got it to work thru trial and error.

We were very impressed with the authenticity of the apartment, the many and varied forms of artwork and the feeling that it was a proper home, we loved it. It was quiet and ideally located for the centre, walked in 5 minutes and the bus station at the post office which meant a 5 minute walk with luggage and a 20 minute bus ride to the TGV station. Excellent base for a lovely stay and a good contact with host, David

We had a wonderful week in David’s house. A fantastic quiet street and a short walk to the town centre attractions and indeed to the Train Station. The apartment was very relaxing and had everything you could need. The beautiful garden was a haven.

We had an amazing time staying in the apartment and really felt at home. The house is full of fantastic decor and details, something new to discover every day. The patio-garden is lovely and was well sheltered from the strong winds that were sweeping Avignon this summer. We’d love to return one day.

We only spent 3 days in Avignon but packed a lot in during the 3 days. The apartment was wonderful and it was great to come back to after full days of sightseeing! The artwork was interesting and the outdoor space was special. The whole apartment was comfortable and very inviting.

David was great. The location is awesome for taking trains fromAvignon Centre Station. The little patio is nice for relaxing. tho could benefit from a solution to the biting bugs. We just used bug spray. The beds are comfortable, but one room is awkward layout and the other can experience street noise. Pretty great for the price.

Great space, fantastic host, clean and best. Good facilities. Location inside the wall couldnt be better. Far enough off the main street to be wonderfully quite. Close enough to make the walks to shops, cafes or whatever easy yet still only a leisurely 10 minute walk to the train station. We plan on returning to Avignon again for an extended stay and hope to stay again.

Everything the other reviewers have said about the property is true. It’s in a great location, walking distance to all the museums and sites. The apartment is fully stocked with anything you might need. We cooked-in two nights, and everything needed for meal preparation was available. The apartment is spacious, quiet, and comfortable. We were very comfortable in this apartment for our stay in Avignon. The private porch/back yard area is even lovelier than the pictures and was a great place to take breakfast every morning. The air-conditioning unit was super useful in the summer heat. Although it mostly cooled the main living areas, we were able to keep the bedrooms comfortable with fans and opening up to the backyard, as it did cool down at night. Kitchen had everything handy and plenty of staples (salt, oil, etc). The apartment is located on a quiet street with no stores or restaurants in the most immediate vicinity, but a short walk took us to practically anywhere in the old city of Avignon. Overall, very satisfied and would stay again.

The Avignon apartment provided us a great central point from which to explore Avignon and to park our car and branch out to towns across Provence. The apartment is located in a charming section of Avignon, with good parking options, and easy access to roads in and out of Avignon. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the outdoor patio each day. I suppose that I cannot credit David with perfect weather... but I can thank him for providing a beautiful, serene home base for our week in the South of France. The apartment was well appointed, charming, and with that gorgeous, private walled garden. Location was ideal: A quiet street that was an easy walk to everywhere we wanted to visit. We would not hesitate to return to David's apartment if we visit Avignon again!

This apartment is a gem. Comfortable, clean, spacious and well-equipped, with a secluded sunny back patio - it has the feel of a house on its own. The location is perfect for visiting the city -- a quiet neighborhood, but within easy walking distance of Avignon’s markets, many museums and central train station David is a superlative host, and exceptionally considerate. We very much hope to return.

I stayed here with my friend in August and we just had the best time. It is well placed only a ten minute walk from the main street in Avignon. It has the feel of a proper French Boulevard and it has a wonderful traditional feel to it. But, the main thing that is the selling point for this property is the garden. We never ate inside, not did we even put on the tv. Just being in the garden at any time of day r night was heaven. It is so private as it is un overlooked - the only building behind it is a silent order of nuns so they are hardly noisy neighbours! As we were two females here on our own, we felt very safe and very relaxed here and David the owner was pleasant and charming. He welcomed us with a bottle of rose and that went down very well on a hot afternoon. He also explained how to get to the supermarket Leclerc which was great on the first day to get in supplies. It really is only a seven minute walk and has a great selection and very cheap but lovely wine!! The apartment is well equipped and clean and comfortable. don't let the art work put you off. It is not to everyone's taste but after the first day or so you don't even notice it. If anything it makes the apartment unique and unforgettable. Avignon is a great town and well placed to see so many things. we went by Eurostar and it was a thoroughly pleasant holiday with glorious weather and charming, friendly people. Thank you David for having us in your wonderful apartment. We look fordward to going back here!

Beautiful ground floor property with a lovely private terrace garden; although on a main road it is very quiet. The apartment is also ideally situated as easy walking distance from the Avignon Centre station and well located for the historic centre of the town. Everything you need in the kitchen for self catering together with a welcoming bottle of Provencal rose in the fridge. We recommend the property.

We had a lovely holiday without needing to hire a car. The apartment is well located for Avignon central station,the bus station ,the decent size l’eclerc supermarket and the centre of Avignon with its sights and restaurants. It was very clean and comfortable with everything needed (eg washing up liquid,toilet rolls ,washing machine tablets etc) for a really wonderful holiday

A well-furnished apartment with everything one needed. Comfortable bed and very quiet in the rear bedroom. Interior décor very eclectic to say the least! Reason for choosing the apartment was the private peaceful patio garden - perfect for sitting out and relaxing and having meals. Taxi to house from TGV station was only just over 10 euros -worth it on a very hot day. (The taxi rank was not immediately obvious but bear left on leaving the TGV station to go behind the car hire offices.) Location is not far from main sights and supermarkets and restaurants.

We loved our stay in this charming apartment. It has a well equipped kitchen and a modern, state-of-the-art, shower. The lovely lush, partially covered, patio allowed us to have all our meals outside even the couple of days it rained. David, the owner, was attentive and quickly responsive to all of our needs. Since we arrived during the striking period of the railroad company, he went the “extra mile” and had his friend, Phillipe, pick us up at Nîmes. We can’t wait to have the opportunity to return!

We loved our time in the apartment and in Avignon itself. We walked to the apartment from the station which would normally be fine but there were road works around the station that made it harder. The apartment is spacious with the exception of the toilet, and is full of the most interesting and diverse decor. We enjoyed the outdoor patio area too. David was a very helpful host, giving us lots of information and replying promptly to any queries. We have discovered Avignon is a terrific centre to go out from and visit lots of interesting places.

The apartment is large, very clean, well equipped, and has a great art/history library. It is located in a pretty building on a tree lined street, a 5 to 8 minute walk to the main shopping street, and 15 minutes to the train or bus stations. David, our host, was very responsive and accommodating. But the very best part is the wonderful patio garden. It is completely private and provides a quiet sanctuary after a day of sightseeing in a busy city. When at the apartment we spent most of our time out on the patio; breakfast, dinner, reading or just relaxing. We loved our stay.

David's apartment felt like home as soon as we walked in, there are lots of books and paintings and double doors leading into the garden. The beds are very comfortable and the back bedroom is especially quiet. Kitchen has everything you need except a good knife!
