About this cottage rental

Country house of the fourteenth century restored preserving its own character with panoramic views:
Na Bassera: A rustic finca with a restored house dating from the 14th century, retaining its traditional character. It is situated in a peaceful area, around two kilometres from Alcúdia, with open views across the Mallorcan countryside.

The house has four double bedrooms and four bathrooms, two of them en suite, arranged over three levels.

On the ground floor, there is a bedroom with a 1.40-metre double bed, an en-suite bathroom and direct access to the outside.

The middle floor, all on one level and with no stairs, has a spacious sitting room with an iron fireplace, a separate dining room, a fully equipped rustic kitchen and a complete bathroom with a shower.

The upper floor has three bedrooms. One has a 1.60-metre bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath. The other two have two 0.90-metre single beds and two 1.05-metre single beds respectively, and share a large bathroom with a bath.

The house is equipped with satellite television. The three bedrooms on the upper floor have air conditioning, while the ground-floor bedroom has a fan.

Outside, there is a barbecue area with pergolas and garden furniture, as well as another garden area with a shade sail for protection from the sun.

The swimming pool is in front of the house and has a sun terrace offering panoramic views of the finca and its surroundings.

Na Bassera is set in Mediterranean countryside, surrounded by olive, carob and almond trees. The finca is also used for sheep farming, creating an authentic and peaceful rural setting.

The Bay of Alcúdia is just 5–10 minutes away by car, with almost 19 kilometres of coastline, fine, light-coloured sandy beaches and calm, shallow waters.

It is an ideal place to relax and enjoy the surroundings, whether travelling with family or friends. The area also offers good opportunities for walking and cycling.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The house has a system of self-sufficiency in power, has a enough equipment of photovoltaic panels with batteries and backup alternator, which requires at all times a REASONABLE and EFFICIENT consumption by the customer.

we had such a great week in this house - the house itself is very charming (it's about 1,000 years old according to the owner), with lots of space to stretch out. the grounds were very nice and we enjoyed using the pool every afternoon. the access to beaches was very easy as well as restaurants in pollenca and surroundings. the house was also immaculately clean upon our arrival. one note, there were no toiletries / hand soap or dedicated beach /pool towels. otherwise, a really great stay!

This a gorgeous property-down a bumpy track ( slightly washed away by floods in part and thru two sheep gates). Only 15 mins by car from Alcudia and 25 mins from Pollença and Port de Pollenca- both lovely towns to visit. Tues market in Alcudia “old town” great fun - do haggle though! House is big enough for two families to be together but also to have own space. There is air-con in 3 upstairs bedrooms- but use sparingly as the house is totally off grid and powered by solar. We had very hot weather at 38 degrees so was uncomfortable sleeping without air-con downstairs at night despite using electric fans. The pool although not huge is fabulous- good shade and perfect temperature. Lots of mosquitoes and ants so TAKE SPRAY as they all bite between 6.30-9.30pm. Also buy citronella candles from supermarket in Sa Pobla. The seating area by the BBQ is particularly bad so eat on the other terrace which has a breeze and a great canopy where the views across the marsh are stunning. There is a dishwasher/ washing machine and all things necessary in the kitchen. The TV didn’t work as no signal but could play radio channels. - we went to Alcúdia beach. Beautiful busy/ shallow water. But nicest was Cala Vicenç - easy parking at both. Artà is a great town to visit and coast at Cala Ratjada beyond is stunning and good swimming off rocks for teenagers. We went for 10 nights which was a perfect amount to explore the island. The Wednesday market at Sineu also a pretty drive and place to shop.

The villa itself is beautiful and rustic. The house is set away from other properties so you feel secluded and have privacy. The property was very clean. The house has everything you need for cooking and cleaning, including an outside grill which was great. There are two terraces and the one at the back has an incredible view. There is also a lovely pool (which is not deep). When we arrived, we met the owner Francisca who was there to show us around. She does not speak English but luckily my friend does so she was able to pass the information onto my friend about the house (such as everything is run on solar energy). My only criticisms were that the owner removed the air conditioning remote controls from the villa. We managed for a few days but decided to ask towards the end of the trip and were told that they were taken to be fixed. We were then given the remotes the next day. We were also not warned by the owner when we got there about the incredibly high number number of mosquitos. I have never seen anything like this, and I learned it is due to the government not treating the mosquito breeding grounds since the pandemic (worst in north east Mallorca). Given the widespread issue, I would have expected her to at least mention this or put some plugs in the house before we got there, and we would have been more prepared from the start. Air conditioning would have at least kept some mosquitos out but we did not have the controls. One of my friends had over 120 bites.
