House near sea south exposed Provencale style

We had a very pleasant holiday in Brem-sur-Mer. The house is situated in a calm street just outside the village. The beach is 5 minutes by car, 10 minutes by bicycle and the nicest beach in the area. Cycling is great, a lot of cycle-tours provided by the Bureau de Tourisme. Due to the enclosed garden, you have a lot of privacy. All in all a very pleasant holiday home if you are looking for a quiet place, close to a nice beach for a relaxed holiday.

Great house. Great location and very secure for children. Couldn't fault facilities. However very disappointed when leaving the premises. House had been cleaned from top to bottom and left in very clean condition. On inspection was told house was not cleaned properly. Extremely small flaws identified and had to pay 20 € for a cleaner to get deposit back. We were expected to have property cleaned to absolute perfection and ready for next user without any touch up cleaning to be completed by landlord. Extremely harsh to expect that level of perfection of cleaning. We are not professional cleaners and don't expect such requests to be made. (Has never happened at any other property we have rented over the years.) No mention of this absolute standard of cleaning required on arrival. Should not be expected! We are on holiday and paid good money for what was a lovely house. !!! As stated house was clean and tidy when we left but still not good enough. Disappointing end to a lovely stay.

The house was very well appointed for cooking and comfortable. The photos do not represent the state of the garden, it is neglected with weeds, dried out and not lush as in the photos and does not have the market umbrellas, potted plants nor window boxes with flowers. The manager was difficult at check out alleging that we left a mark on the white melamine kitchen counter which we did not, began cleaning counters with cleaner as if they were not clean or as bright as they were, touched the fridge shelves which were wet and had us wash them again, acting like we didn't meet the criteria to get our deposit back... very uncomfortable scenario and thus would not recommend staying here unless new mgmt. Also neighbourhood not interesting for a walk in the Evening as it is close to main roads, but was convenient to drive to nearby beaches or markets. Additionally, the entry gates are falling apart so not easy to close. This property is ok, nice decor, but clearly lacks maintence (in addition to garden issues, windows and sills dirty, dust bunnies under beds, shower curtain slightly moldy...). The previous review about the mgr was accurate.
