Old Owl has all the ingredients to make your time away special and memorable – especially when you have resort amenities like your own private salt water heated pool! Old Owl is a walk away to Lake Shore Drive and the lake bluff (5 mins.) and Douglas Public Beach (1.6 miles) to enjoy all the lake life sights, sounds, sunrises and sunsets. You can easily access all the great things in the Saugatuck and Douglas area with a short drive to town. Note that pool is now closed for 2025 season.
Old Owl has 3,800 SF of newly constructed space with 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. This custom designed and professionally decorated house is spread over 2 levels – pick your favorite area to relax and unwind. Perfect for either your own personal retreat or for multi-family use. The main level has a private owner’s en suite with a huge walk in shower and a balcony, an open great room with a gas fireplace (October-April) and lots of windows, a fully stocked chef’s kitchen, dining room, 2 guest bedrooms (with a shared bathroom) and powder room. Oh wait, there is also a sundeck and screened in porch for you to enjoy on summer days or sip coffee on those crisp fall mornings. Both overlook the pool area and serene woods. The walk out level is an entertainer’s dream with an open concept family room (complete with foosball and real arcade system), wet bar, another en suite bedroom and 2 more guest bedrooms (with a shared bathroom). This level also has patio doors which open up to the pool area for easy access to the fun.
Now let’s talk about all the outdoor space. Old Owl is located on a 4.5 acre wooded lot. You will love the privacy and also being surrounded by nature – enjoy the sights or explore. The huge 18x36 salt water pool is HEATED between 82-84 degrees and open mid May- early/mid October (opening 5/14/26 for 2025 season, closing 10/12/26). For May and October rentals - confirm pool will be open for your stay prior to booking as it based on weather. Pool also has a shallow tanning ledge so even the littlest of guests can enjoy water time! There is also plenty of space and seating poolside for guests who just want to kick back and relax. Pool toys, floats and an outdoor ping pong table are provided to help you kick up the fun factor. Old Owl also features an 8 person outdoor hot tub/spa open year round and an outdoor natural gas fire pit (available April through November).
Other Old Owl highlights include wifi, streaming services available on all TVs (great room, owner’s suite, family room and en suite), a Sonos speaker system, a huge driveway to enjoy bike riding or basketball onsite, zoned heating and cooling, beach items and child toys, and many provided convenience items to help you to just drop your bags and enjoy! Our stay at the Old Owl was a 10/10. Everything fromBooking to check-out was seemless. The amenities of the house were great and everything was in perfect condition. We were a group of 13 adults and there was plenty of space for all of us. Both Brett and the property manager were attentive and available whenever we had a question or needed something. The kitchen and bathrooms were stocked with everything you could need! We definitely plan on visiting the Old Owl again !

Once again, we had a dream family vacation in Saugatuck using Brett’s wonderful house as our home base! Our group numbers 10 and ranges in age from 3 to 84. Old Owl House affords us each the space and the type of accommodations to suit us all! The house is always spotless upon our arrival, the large, open kitchen equipped with everything one could possibly need for cooking (and then some!), the furniture in every room comfortable and pleasing. Over the years we've been coming, if there's ever a question, a problem, or concern (and truly, there have been few!) the manager, Chadd, has consistently been quick to respond and whatever it was taken care of quickly. The location of this house cannot be beat for easy (car) access to beaches, town, and to any of the many amazing things Suagatuck/Douglass has to offer. From blueberry picking and peach picking, to beach-going, hiking, playing pickle ball, or tubing on Lake Michigan, our days were filled with wonder and variety. And even before we left the house in the morning, or once we returned in the afternoon, we all loved spending time in and around the pool, the hot tube, or reading on the screened porch.This house is truly a "gem"! We are so grateful to be able to return here year after year and we're hoping 2026 is no exception!

The house was amazing! It was very well clean and very spacious. The pool was also very warm. I hate going to places with a heated pool and it not being warm but this was perfect. It was a few minutes from town. Even while having no power and being on the house generator the house held up well. We will be back!
