About this cabin rental

Overlooking the Ohio River, the Cedar Cabin at the River's Edge offers a peaceful, comfortable, and intimate experience of the Ohio River. With a queen, 2 twins, and another queen in the loft, this would be great for families, hunters, or couples. Dog and cat friendly. Smart TV. Free wi-fi available.
The space
This cozy, rustic, cedar-walled single-room cabin directly overlooks the Ohio River. The bathroom has a shower, sink, and toilet. Outside there is direct access to the beach & water, as well as a large open grassy & landscaped space overlooking the river, with a fire pit, swing set, and flagstone areas with covered tables. The property also borders a deep creek, with lots of trees. The cabins & yard are mostly separated from the road by the restaurant (no longer open to the public with the exception). Two parking spaces available per cabin (please reach out ahead of time should you want more spaces). Locally-sourced coffee provided in the cabin. The room is heated/cooled primarily with a mini split unit.
Guest access
Guests can access the river, beach, and large yard at their leisure. There is also a landing spot for boats about four miles south (KH Butler) and a cute little town about a 10-minute drive north. Free onsite parking lot is available. We live in a very rural area, so there are a variety of dwellings and lots of patches of woods around.

Property was exactly as described. Picked this property for its proximity to a winery we were visiting, and for the view of the river. The made to order breakfast each morning, delivered to our, was delicious. We spent hours on the balcony watching boats and barges pass by. Our stay was pleasant and peaceful and definitely would recommend, and fully intend on booking again.

I came back for my 50th High School reunion, and decided to try staying 2 nights in a cabin by the Ohio River. Rustic? Yes, yet it has all that you would need - fridge, microwave, coffee maker, free wifi, Roku TV, great AC, and a deck to enjoy the view. Remember that you’re in a cabin, so sometimes the outdoors may come in. Also, the breakfasts I had each morning were delicious, cheerfully delivered right to my cabin. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there.

This is our second visit to the Cedar Cabin and definitely not the last!! Beautiful little cabin overlooking the Ohio River. Very clean, and a delicious breakfast. The owners provided unparalleled service and hospitality!!! They are so focused on making sure guests have a problem-free experience. And, there is a very friendly outdoor kitty to greet guests upon arrival. On a rating scale of 1 to 10 we give them a 50!!!!!

This spacious one room cabin was clean and stocked by considerate, generous people. There were board games, several flavors of creamer in the fridge, plenty of nice towels, and a fun little loft. The home cooked breakfast was delicious and delivered on time. The best part was the back porch with a beautiful view of the river. We will definitely go back!

First I'll stay with communication at first I thought it was a bit excessive but I later understood why I received several communications. When I arrived and finally saw it I was a bit taken a back it's quaint. One single room, a microwave and fridge, I had brought food to cook, which I couldn't. There was a bed a bunk bed and a ladder to a lifted area, sleeping 6 is a stretch. We had 4 but 5 easy if someone wants to sleep up. The balcony really does over look the river it's nice. I was, however, blown away by such amazing citations service that I quickly did not care, it is by far very affordable and a great place to sleep and prepare for your other planned adventures. They're is no swimming or fishing at least not there, although they don't claim that. The breakfast is ample and a great addition. Gena and Chris bent over backwards to do things and make sure we had everything we didn't even know we needed. I have been traveling for over 40 years and have never experienced the level of costumer friendliness and support they provided. I would stay at any of their properties time and time again. Bring boats games, there is a grill and firepit they let you use, a swings and climbing gym thing. The beds were extremely comfortable and the loft is deep.

We enjoyed our stay. We wanted a quiet, peaceful, relaxing time; and that was what we had. We loved sitting on the porch watching the river flow past and enjoyed watching the barges. We were in town for a 2 day volleyball tournament. We booked this place because it was reasonably priced and only 10 minutes from Gallipolis and 20 minutes from The Root gym. The only thing that could have been better was warmer weather to sit out on the deck. The cabin was beautiful on the inside, perfect for our quick stay and the beds were super cozy. The hostess and her family are absolutely the sweetest and our homemade breakfast that they delivered was delicious!! We will stay here again next time we are in town!

This cute cabin is great. It is very clean. The beds are super comfy. I am 6'3 and slept in the bunkbed and it was long enough and wide enough to give me a great night sleep. The bedding is high end and cozy. The deck is right over the Ohio river - great views. The courtyard area is clean with new outdoor furniture. I also loved that in the Welcome manual they said that they don't have a lot of rules. I hate when you check into a place and there are 10 pages of rules and common sense reminders. (You won't find that here.) The best part of the entire stay was breakfast. It was the best meal of our entire week long trip through WV!

I'll be honest, I was a little iffy once we pulled into the property. It's a "blink and you'll miss it" sort of place, but definitely don't miss it. The cabin looked lackluster on the outside, but inside it was genuinely amazing. The cedar walls looked (and smelled) great. The whole cabin was nicely appointed. The bed was extremely comfy and cozy. Temperature was comfortable and easily adjustable. A REAL coffee maker with a local selection of coffees. Breakfast was easy to order, delivered on time and delicious! The shower is small, but gets plenty hot and the bathroom was stocked better than most hotel rooms. The Welcome book was very helpful! It's a bit out of the way (we were visiting the Mothman Museum 20min away), but definitely worth the trip!

Check in was very easy. We were greated by two of the sweetest kitties while outside which is always a win! The view from the balcony was beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough if you're traveling to the area or just looking for a couple days away. There is a great balcony view overlooking the river, and trails, picnic tables, and a firepit right outside. We stayed during our trip to Pt Pleasant, WV, and it was an easy drive to/from each day. Check-in was super simple with no contact necessary. It's a basic cabin that would be great for a family, but was just as great for the two of us. With the AC, fridge, microwave, and coffee pot (stocked with local coffee that was delicious), we had all the amenities we needed -- plus breakfast delivered right to your door. You really can't beat the value. They were extremely kind and helpful during our stay, and responded to any message within minutes. No notes! We'd definitely book again for future visits to the area.
