Urban King bed Loft Free Parking Downtown

Good space for our time in beautiful Detroit! The loft was a bit off the beaten path but had a nice 15-20 min walk along the waterfront to the people mover and Woodward Ave. Not well insulated for sound as mentioned in other reviews, was only really a problem one night we were there with whoever was upstairs. Felt secure. Two flights of stairs FYI. Hallways did smell like weed, but not the inside of the unit.

Spacious, clean, comfortable, well equipped, free gated parking, friendly neighbors, easy & clear communication with Betty, easy getting downtown, and so much more! Highly recommend this place

The unit was overall as described. 420 friendly and you could definitely smell it throughout the building. The floors are not soundproof and when we walked in we thought someone had left a TV on somewhere in the space because the sound was so loud and clear, but it was coming from the unit above ours. Again, these are mentioned in the description and not at all the fault of the owners, but we thought both were a little more bothersome than we expected. Other than that, the space was clean and comfortable and conveniently located. Check in and parking were both easy.

The rental looked just as pictured and was very clean. I had trouble getting in the parking lot gate (the host was responsive) but it did delay me and I ended up parking on the front street. My car was fine! The posting is honest in that if you're looking for something quiet, this may not be for you. I was mostly gone, but when I was getting ready for my engagement, I could hear someone's phone call word for word. I was also waken up in the middle of the night by the person above the unit walking around in heels--it sounded like they were IN my unit. Lastly, it was colder than I'd like, as the furnace is the only way to control the heat (plus a space heater). It's an industrial loft, and while it's decorated very chic-like, it definitely has the elements of an old building! The host can't control most of this, but the cold and thin walls personally weren't for me!
