Welcome to El Mirador de la Cigüeña, an authentic Spanish Casa Rural where stone, wood, and tradition meet. Located in the peaceful village of Cabanillas del Monte—just 7 km from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Segovia—this rural retreat sits at the very gateway to the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.

One of the most magical experiences at our rural retreat happens on the garden porch. It is the perfect place to start your day with breakfast while immersed in the sounds of nature. Here, you can enjoy the peace of the countryside while listening to the unique "clattering" of the storks (the famous crotoreo) nesting nearby, or the unmistakable call of the cuckoo bird in the spring. Our Casa Rural is designed for groups and families who value both communal spaces and individual privacy:
The Living Room: A grand, warm space featuring original wooden beams and a cozy wood-burning fireplace, perfect for long evening gatherings.
Bedrooms (5) & Bathrooms (4): We offer 5 spacious bedrooms equipped with high-quality 90cm beds. Their versatile design allows them to be kept as twins or joined together to create large double beds, depending on your group's needs. With four full bathrooms, there is never a rush in the morning.
Climate Control: For your total comfort, this rural retreat features full central heating with independent thermostats in every room, allowing you to customize the temperature to your liking.
The "Txoko": Our Signature Social Space
A standout feature of our Casa Rural is the Txoko—a large, fully enclosed and covered social area separate from the main living room. It is equipped with a traditional built-in barbecue and two massive dining tables. Whether it’s a sunny afternoon or a cool winter evening, the Txoko provides a protected and festive atmosphere for large meals and unforgettable memories.
Culture, Tradition, and the Ecomuseum
We are not just hosts; we are keepers of local heritage. We are the owners of the "El Pastor del Agua" Ecomuseum (The Water Shepherd), located right here. We invite our guests to discover the fascinating history of traditional water management and the ancient sheep-shearing culture that defined our region for centuries.
Cabanillas del Monte itself, though small and quiet, is a declared Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) due to its remarkably preserved traditional architecture and its historical "Esquileo" (shearing station).

We totally recommmend this property. We went there with friends and children and they could play outside without security issues, the property was exquisitely decorated, very clean and with a lot of space overall. The kitchen had all you could need and we were a group of 8 and never ran out of anything! The bbq and fireplace area is fantastic. Thanks so much for a marvellous stay!
