About this house rental

Lovely 16th century stone house located in the heart of the city center, in a very quiet street in the historic district of MONTIGNAC-LASCAUX.
It is the ideal base for visiting the Dordogne, ready to welcome you for a pleasant and memorable stay!

ITS IDEAL LOCATION WILL ALLOW YOU TO DO EVERYTHING ON FOOT!

You will stay in the immediate vicinity of bakeries, many restaurants, bars, supermarkets, butcher, pharmacy, ice cream parlour, cinema, hairdressers etc...
The market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday; The farmers' market with catering and local entertainment, every Monday evening (July / August).

Only 10 minutes walk from the Lascaux Caves and the canoe-kayak base which will allow you to go down our magnificent river, the Vézère, along the castles and other wonders...

Montignac-Lascaux is located among the jewels of the Périgord Noir where a multitude of activities are offered: electric bike rental, mini-golf, visits to castles, fortresses, chasms, troglodyte dwellings, animal park, horseback riding, numerous marked pedestrian and bicycle trails, and much more...

Within a radius of 10 km around this accommodation, you will stroll through three magnificent villages classified as "most beautiful villages in France", it's unique!!
Sarlat: 25 mn - Les Eyzies: 25 mn - Périgueux or Brive: 45 mn

We are here to welcome you – For late arrivals, a secure key box outside will allow you to enter independently.

Perfect for a stay with family or friends.
Very functional, warm and carefully decorated, it offers you all the comforts – new bedding and furniture!

The modern, perfectly fitted and fully equipped kitchen has everything you need (fridge, hob, microwave, oven, dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, toaster...) with central island and open to a cosy living room with a large 160 cm flat screen.

The stairs will lead you to a large comfortable bathroom with a corner bathtub and an Italian shower (heated towel rail and hairdryer), as well as:

A bedroom with Queen size bed - 160 x 200 cm,
A bedroom with a 140 x 190 cm bed and its dressing room,
A bedroom with a 90 x 190 cm bed.
Separate toilet.

Bed linen and towels are provided and all beds will be prepared before your arrival, all you have to do is enjoy!

Free parking near the house.
Our pet friends are welcome on request.

We went to Montignac specifically to see the Lascaux 4 reconstruction of the ancient caves. It would have been nice to see the original, but I very much support the idea of limiting human access to the real cave to minimize potential damages from our breathing. Limiting access to genuine researchers and very much limiting even their access is a way to preserve this archaeological wonder well into the future. If you can’t make a trip to Montignac, look for a visit from Lascaux 3, the traveling copy to come to a city near you. Lascaux 4 was only about 10 minutes away, but all of the shops of this little village are even closer. The boulangerie was on the corner about 50 m from the house, restaurants, a laundromat, banks and a tourism office were all just short walks past the boulangerie. One word of caution, the stairs are a bit funky. Old, uneven steps on the first flight, and you will go up and down that flight a lot. Bath, toilet and one bedroom are on the premier étage which Americans would call the second floor. Two more bedrooms are one flight above that, and those steps are steep and the railing is a bit irregular. At 6’8” I had plenty of headroom everywhere, except the front door. If you are tall, make sure you duck going in or out.
