Location is excellent, on the banks of a beautiful river, onto which the balcony faces. Generally very quiet. Lots of bars, restaurants, cafes and shops within walking distance. Well equipped apartment, with good air-con - temperatures were in the high 30s, so this was really appreciated.

Building requires work to bring up to a comfortable standard. Going through the website of the nearby hotel, it states that the two apartments are annexes of the hotel. If this is the case, we would have expected a cleaning service with a change of towels for an 8 night stay, especially as we paid €50 for cleaning within the booking fee. However, this didn't happen. Also, the stairs haven't been cleaned in a long time. Balcony furniture is very uncomfortable, which we did report. There were a few minor issues, which didn't affect our stay but need addressing. The electric box on the stairs is unlocked, the bannister is very loose, and the door lock to the apartment is also loose. If you are very tall or have reduced mobility, the separate toilet is so small that it may be an issue.

Convenient to visit Lascaux II and Lascaux IV and several other caves with prehistoric art. We had very hot weather (90+f/nearly 40c) and the unit was pre-cooled with the AC on before our arrival. Easy to find and navigate to. Plenty of restaurants on the same side of the river. A small grocery store is 10 minutes walk away on the other side of the river (directly across from the apartment). There are two larger stores very close heading towards Les Eyzies on the same side of the river. All the messages and check-in information via booking.com were in French so we had to use a translation app. But, when we arrived, the information in the house was in French and English. And it is a very complete information/instruction binder. Laundry (and detergent) is downstairs and shared with the second apartment. Very large bath towels. Quiet for sleeping and we did not hear any noise from the apartment upstairs. Lovely little balcony overlooking the Vezere River. Kitchen is adequate for light cooking.

We had to unplug one of the bedside lamps in order to plug in a CPAP machine. Narrow stairs but not steep or difficult. Parking is not reserved/dedicated but there are plenty of spaces very close. The shower floor is slippery if you don’t use the provided floor mat. It would be nice to have an option for making coffee besides pods (perhaps a French press or stovetop espresso maker). 5:00 p.m. is a very late check-in time. The mattress pad has a plastic moisture barrier which crinkles and rustles though the noise wasn’t too much for us.
