This was the most relaxing and perfect long weekend we could have asked for! No mosquitos this Labour Day long weekend, and warm enough to enjoy the water, which was so clear and beautiful. We struggled to make a campfire and the property manager James kindly helped us and brought over firewood. Would recommend the loon, and hope to return soon!

The host was responsive, the property nice, and we loved the easy access to canoes. There were a few issues however. The microwave barely worked and kept shorting making it difficult to heat up food for the kid. The other issue is that the sheets on one of the beds smelled strongly of stinky feet. We notified the host and they helped us get fresh sheets quickly which was appreciated.

The property location was great. We loved the lake access and kayaks and canoes. I only experineced 2 issues: 1)the water had a strong sulpher/egg smell that would not go away, even after running the water. 2) there was pet hair on the living room couch pillows. It was easy to just move the pillows, but there was no fixing the water. Other than that, the place was as pictured and overall we had a pleasant stay.

Our stay was okay overall. Id rate it a 7/10. The property has potential but there are a number of things that need improvement.Pros:The view of the water is beautiful. The dock is in good condition and the kayaks/canoe were great to have access to (though they’re shared and not labeled). The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed.Gas BBQ worked (though tricky to light).Towels were provided.Cons:The biggest issue was the water — it smelled strongly (like sulfur/eggs) and was brown from the start. The host did send someone to clean the tank, which helped for a day, but the problem quickly came back, making the water basically unusable. The stairs down to the water are very old and worn, and directly at the bottom there’s an uneven rock that feels like a tripping hazard. A ramp or repair would make it much safer. The fire pit area by the water hasn’t been landscaped, so it’s surrounded by bushes and weeds, making it uninviting. The upper deck only had two iron chairs (no cushions), so it wasn’t very comfortable to sit outside. The bedrooms are very small — the queen beds are nice, but there’s little space to move around or store belongings.Overall, it’s a decent spot if you want a nice view and water access, but the water issue and lack of comfort in certain areas made the stay less enjoyable than we’d hoped. I wouldn’t recommend it for family’s with young kids. It’s for adults in my opinion in terms of safety.
