The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates
Charging electric vehicles at this property is not permitted

What a lovely Cotswolds cottage. The location is excellent just a minutes walk and you are in the beautiful village of Stow with plenty of shops and places to eat. The cottage is tastefully decorated and the beds were very comfortable. A lovely welcome gift of bread, jams egg milk and butter was an added bonus. The hot tub and garden were lovely. We really enjoyed our stay and would certainly recommend the property.

We recently enjoyed a midweek break at 2 Bottom End cottage. The location is fantastic with everything you need a stones throw away. The area is beautiful and full of charm. We had a 6 year old Vizsla with us and the cottage is perfectly set up to have your furry companion join you. Enclosed garden was a must for us and there are walks a plenty from the cottage. The welcome pack of eggs, bread and butter was a lovely touch. The upstairs has a wooden door to ensure your four legged friend couldn't go upstairs which was great. In general the cottage is wonderful, cozy and very warm. We slept so well and the bed and furnishings were lovely and very comfortable. There were a few things we noticed however. Granted the age of the cottage and upkeep but there were quite a few lights that were not working, especially in the bathroom - this should really be addressed before guests arrive. The paint was coming off the walls in the bathroom so just a bit of TLC needed. The garden was not very tidy and there were broken bricks around the hot tub when we arrived which we had to move. On to the hot tub, which sadly was quite dirty. I only got into it once as I sat there I could feel a film of grease on the seats in the water. Whether the tub is just drained between each guests I'm not sure, but it certainly was not wiped down which really put us off and we didn't go back in again. A great shame. We would come back absolutely as the cottage really worked for and the dog. The above points are minor and we really had a lovely week.

We had a lovely week at Bottom end. The location is fabulous and the cottage is beautiful. Unfortunately, the hot tub was not hot enough for the first two nights. We also had some minor niggles e.g. the toilet flush wasn’t quite right, the shower head needed fixing (this was done during the week), the toilet door wouldn’t shut and there were a few light bulbs out (no lights in the conservatory at all). For the price we paid this was a real shame however, Donna was very apologetic. As others have said the bed in the 2nd room was very hard and there is not enough comfortable seating for 4 in the living room. If there was just 2 of us we would stay again however, a 3rd person joined us for some of our trip and this was not great when relaxing at night. Parking was never an issue but we were not there in the height of summer.

Cozy cottage, perfect location which is close enough to walk into the lovely Stow with all its amenities but still very quiet and peaceful for a restful sleep. The perfect base for us. However, what was disappointing was the second bed and the hot tub. The second bed was like a board, I had read this in reviews but decided to risk it. I can’t believe the owner hasn’t changed it, they certainly know about it because they’ve put a thick mattress topper on - it didn’t help any. The hot tub was a great disappointment. We specifically hunted out a cottage that had one and of course paid a premium for that luxury. The amount of chlorine in it was horrible (be warned, take your jewellery off, mine was ruined in 5 minutes, not that there are any notices to do so). The screen said that the water needed changing and we could see the filter was filthy. I went into the office the next day to complain and ask for someone to come out and sort it. Someone did come, unfortunately when we were out so couldn’t speak to them or see what they did. It still said water needed changing and it was still filthy inside. I’m not one for complaining, I would have thought once was enough to get it sorted hence this review. I myself own 6 holiday lets with hot tubs so I know how they should be cleaned and looked after and this was not fit for use!
