Lovely cosy cottage and great location.
Wasn’t anything not to like.

Location, layout
1) WiFi code was INCORRECT, in two places, recorded in the introduction book! Hard to believe we were the first to use it…
2) no washing machine instructions
3) recycling instructions were very complicated, and the receptacles were not labeled

The location was fantastic. Lounge was comfortable, nice outside space- not massive but still enough to have a quiet coffee in the morning. I’m not normally a fan of soft beds, but these were still comfortable. Easy check in procedure.
Cleanliness, there were cobwebs over the doors and in the windows. Beware that the shower has a step to get in and is raised slightly, then getting out was a step down (about 6-8 inches). We chose a property with a separate shower on purpose due to an elderly guest, but unfortunately she could not use it as it was not safe for her - not the properties fault, but just want to make people aware. In general the kitchen cutlery and crockery could do with a refresh. The cutlery was old and tarnished and the crockery was a little mismatched - there was one large mug, but enough unchipped mugs for all guests would have been nice. For the premium price we paid, I would expect more, for less than £50 a new set of plates and cutlery would make a world of difference and would make us consider coming back again. As it is, we wouldn’t.

The cottage is authentically Cotswolds and the location was central - an easy walk into town.
The cottage is extremely expensive for what it offers, it was adequate but not exceptional.

A lovely cottage in a great location. Was cold when we stayed so more wood and kindling for the fire would have been appreciated and we could have done with a chopping board. Some areas could have been cleaner but all in all we enjoyed our few days there and would recommend as a great place to stay. The beds were super comfortable and bed linen was gorgeous.

The bedrooms were lovely, the lounge area was good, nice fire
The kitchen equipment, cutlery, glasses, crockery, coffee machine were really old, they need replacing if you want good reviews. We felt like they were from our grandparents era …. This is a very inexpensive fix

Great little cottage in an amazing location
Not that easy to find if you arrive late at night, but all good

The location was perfect. And the cottage itself was really comfy.
Nothing really. It was as advertised.

It was difficult to actually find the cottage. Google maps and the postcode lookup gave a location different from the actual location. May they should use what3words

The beds were very comfortable, and the property was close to the town. Bathroom was good.
When we got to the cottage we wanted a cup of tea, the teapot had not been cleaned, some of the plates had not been cleaned properly and also the cups had to be washed. It didn't seem as if anything in the kitchen had been checked. The blind on the door didn't work so we fixed that. The outside really needed a good pressure wash. The WI Fi stopped we looked into it and it said that the bill needed to be paid.
The kitchen was cleaner when we left after we saw to things. We didn't go away to have to clean up the kitchen. As far as I am concerned Housekeeping had not done their job.
I will be reporting this to Sykes Cottages.

Excellent location. Very comfy beds and bedding. Cottage was well presented and clean.
Kitchen was well stocked. Lovely to have milk, tea, coffee and biscuits available on arrival.
Instructions abour parking could have been clearer - it was much easier to park in Shepherds Way nearby, where there were easy parking spots.
One evening after heavy rain, cottage was cold. It was very difficult to use the heating - instructions for the boiler were unclear. However as we went out for supper we survived!!!

Feel with a few additional items would make it exceptional ie, (this just maybe personal choice). washing line, airer, as we stayed for a week and would have liked to have done some washing, rather than use the complicated washer/dryer, also there was no bread board.

Location brilliant. Lovey cottage... Very homely...
Back bedroom radiator didn't work and needed to use additional. Heater as it was - 2°
Doenstairs was. Cold due to extreme weather conditions even with heating on. And Without log. Burner. only one day logs given. As cottage was over £250 per night I think logs should be provided for each day.

Fantastic location, within easy reach of pubs, eareries, tea rooms, great facilities & very comfortable.
A dodgy spot light in the kitchen that kept flickering apart from this minor point would recommend & would go again!.

Carter's cottage is a lovely welcoming cottage very close to the village centre of Stow. The lane is very narrow but there is no issue unloading bags right outside the property and then parking just down the road on St Edwards Road where there is ample parking available. We had a lovely relaxing week at this very well appointed cottage. We particularly enjoyed the log burner on a rainy afternoon!
The only issue we had was opening the Keysafe box. The catch is quite tricky to hold down whilst opening the box. There maybe a knack to it. Not really an issue as we managed to open it eventually!
