This property is laid out over three floors and guests with young children should note that the property has steep staircases, particularly up to the second floor, and the front door opens directly onto the road outside. There are also ceilings throughout and low beams on the stairs up to the second floor, which could make it difficult to carry an infant up the stairs. Consequently, guests with young children and infants should carefully assess if the property is suitable for them
Please note Heath Cottage is located on Wraggs Row, a small lane that runs parallel to the A429 (Fosse Way), just off Back Walls

A security deposit is required at this property

The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, typically on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, however, we would recommend checking the exact date ahead of placing your booking. This is a traditional fair for gypsies and travelling people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted. Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. Whilst many visitors enjoy the colour and vibrancy associated with the fairs, other visitors prefer to avoid Stow on these dates

We enjoyed our weeks stay at Heath Cottage. Very clean, comfortable and the location was perfect for walking into Stow and exploring the neighbouring towns and villages. Lovely little enclosed garden which was ideal as we had a dog with us and also appreciated the reserved car space behind the property. My only criticism which isn’t really anything to do with the cottage but did affect our stay was the constant noise from the traffic 24/7 seven days a week from the busy road that runs past the cottage. This was stated in the description but I didn’t realise what a busy road it would be all day long.

Heath Cottage is a typical Cotswold cottage – cobbled, tiled downstairs floor, small kitchen, low beamed ceilings upstairs… The cottage was well kept – very clean, but a bit tired in places. It may be that we stayed at the very end of summer, when I’m assuming there had been a lot of people staying over the summer. The garden, for example, was slightly unkempt and the outside table was dusty/ dirty, the back gate didn’t lock – just little things that didn’t impact our stay massively but is why I have given it a 4 star rating rather than a 5. It felt like it needed a bit of TLC in a few areas. The location is very close to the Centre of stow on the wold, with parking outside. It’s an easy 5 minute walk right into the heart of the village. BUT it is slightly set back from a main busy road, which seems to be busy until past midnight – then tails off. You’re opposite an M&S food in the garage, which is handy. It’s location is great and we went on daytrips to Costwold Wildife Park and Adam’s Farm within really easy reach in the car. We had issues with the WiFi when we arrived, which the agent promptly helped us with – but it remained really patchy throughout our stay – coming in and out. Perhaps this is fixed now, but it was annoying when it had been advertised with Wifi. The bathroom downstairs is tiny and off the kitchen, so we all shared the upstairs bathroom in the end – which isn’t really what we planned. Upstairs, there are beams in the bedrooms – so if you’re tall and don’t like to stoop too much, perhaps the Cotswolds Cottages aren’t for you. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this cottage over the August Bank Holiday – but more than a few days might have felt slightly claustrophobic.

beautiful cottage with a feeling of the cotswolds. we enjoyed it and liked having a kitchen and laundry. We were disappointed to go for the enire first day of our 3 days there without a WI-FI code. We received only 3 towels for 4 people, and only 1.25 rolls of toilet tissue. I understand that short term stay arrangements often expect customers will purchase hygiene items, but seriously! That is not enough toilet paper...There was no information about how to unlock the back door, so we could not access the outdoor area, use the grill or even locate the garbage bins. Really disappointing for the amount of money we paid. Terrible communication that could be fixed with a simple flyer or brochure on the table telling customers how to use the back door, what the WIFI code is, how to use the TV channels, turn on the radiators, etc.

Excellent location. Clean spaces and small but comfortable beds. Ceilings are uncomfortably low and staircases are very narrow - if you are above average height beware. Good option for a small group who prioritises a budget-friendly central location in Stow.

We had a great stay here, it is so convenient to walk into Stow itself and did a great 6km loop walk around the local countryside. The house was comfortable and located opposite Majestic Wine and M&S which was great for picking up food and drink whilst we were there. A few extra loo rolls, bigger towels for longer than a 1 night stay, and mini shampoo/conditioner would have been great for that extra special touch.

Nice location. Mattress in main bedroom was uncomfortable. Sofa had black marks on it. However, cottage was very warm.

Heath Cottage was perfect for the 5 of us. Loved the quirky bedrooms with comfortable beds. Great location, yes it’s on a main road but once inside you don’t notice and there’s parking. We were lucky enough to have fabulous weather so had breakfast in the garden each morning. My only negative is we couldn’t find a tea tray such a minor thing from a great weekend of pure escapism!

Lovely little cottage with room for us all - 4 adults and a toddler. Only trouble was when the washing machine was on for baby stuff, the draining water flooded the kitchen. Came right under the door from outside, so we only used it once! Otherwise we had a great time. Close to the town centre to walk in and enough parking for both cars.
