The 1970s decor of this villa is no Instagram pastiche... it's original. This period authenticity extends to the fixtures and fittings - no aircon, no pool lights, no fancy coffee maker. Surprisingly, it sort of works... The lack of aircon was actually fine (we stayed in July) as the large bedroom windows are shaded by the building's design and are fitted with fly screens and bars. We slept with the windows open with the gentle breeze and the smell of the garden instead of horrible air conditioned air. There are quiet efficient old portable floor fans and the neighbourhood is quiet. It was quite lovely. The beds are super comfortable with excellent linen and the very dated shower has good hot water and pressure. The kitchen has no full oven but a very efficient old counter-top mini oven for warming breakfast croissants. The garden and pool area has lovely mature planting and feels very un-overlooked. You could be seen by pedestrian passers-by through the gaps in the plants but the villa is on a cul-de-sac so we only ever saw the odd car roll past. True to the 1970s feel, the white plastic sun-loungers were far more comfortable than many modern designer ones are. One of the joys of a private pool is being able to swim at night. The total blackness of an unlit pool can feel creepy so I recommend bringing a couple of Amazon's little portable LED pool lights - they're cheap and lightweight. All in all a pretty good stay for the money. Just a newer coffee maker would be nice.

Not the best we have stayed in. Toilet was dirty, shower cubical to small, a plastic chair collapsed causing brusing to my husband's back, broken bin. Sea view was nice but the veranda was filthy, swept it myself and cleaned table, saw two cockroaches in villa and a rat every day in garden. Plus side, when we reported it to Agents next day they sent someone out to sort it.Noisy neighbours, constant comings and goings, pool man came every 3 days which is good and the gardener came for couple of hours, put all this together, I found it hard to relax as was always expecting someone to turn up. 300 deposit they take for breakages, but I think we deserve extra as compensation.
