A modernised cottage with character features in the heart of Brixham. Rose Cottage is a three story terraced house in the historic fishing town of Brixham. The property is conveniently located within walking distance of Brixham’s best attractions. Internally, the décor is modern and stylish but maintains many of its traditional key features such as the character fireplace. Throughout the house is a blend of old and new. The bathroom boasts a large shower and free standing bath. There is also Wi-Fi internet access throughout. Brixham is a charming seaside village with narrow streets and quaint lanes are perfect for exploring; and there is always something new to find. When you fancy a break from exploring, Brixham has a range of cafes and restaurants with stunning views of the harbour and surrounding areas. As Brixham is a fishing port it is easy to find a restaurant that specialises in fresh fish and you can regularly find the ‘catch of the day’ being served. This property is set in an ideal location close to local beaches and lovely scenic walks.

We had several properties including the one next door to you, and I have to say I liked yours the best as it accommodated the 4 of us perfectly and we had some room to all sit together as there were a total of 12 of us and 3 children but pent of room to sit and talk and get together with all.
We will definitely try and get this property again as Sara was very accommodating and comunicative and I felt bad that I could not respond to you as the messages were coming in on my U.S. based phone but I could not get back to you through it.
In any case we enjoyed the stay and we thank you for everything.

Great hosts from the start of booking, fabulous communication. Lovely welcome basket of goodies and a Christmas tree and Christmas decorations around the cottage. Comfy beds, well equipped cottage to cook a large Christmas dinner. Perfect location, within walking distance of the harbour. Will be back!

In an historic street close to the quayside, this cottage provides an atmospheric base for exploring Brixham. The host was very helpful. VRBO, as the booking platform could improve its procedures.

We loved staying here. It's just a few minutes walk to the quay and the property has amazing character with suprisngly large rooms. We have two young kids and we had to be wary of the steep stairs, however they loved exploring all the rooms. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We loved the quirky nature of Rose Cottage! Our young kids loved sleeping in their attic bedroom, and we enjoyed the coastal decor, well thought out furnishings and little touches - a thoughtful welcome basket for example. The stairs may not be ideal for more elderly visitors but they were no problem for us. And the location couldn’t be better - a stones throw from everything Brixham has to offer. It was our first visit to this lovely little town but I’m certain we’ll be back and we’d definitely look to stay here again. Lovely place, would recommend.

This is a super, cosy cottage with great atmosphere. The kitchen may be small but it’s properly equipped (even a salad spinner) for cooks who want to enjoy Brixham’s excellent produce. Roll top bathtub is great after chilly walks. Lovely little outside space. Sara was a great host.

Booking and accessing property very efficient. Property has all you would need. Stairs are very steep as stated and caused a giggle when climbing them after a 4 mile cliff walk. Beds very comfortable. Although elder daughter managed to sleep in attic room it was quite a skill not on bump her head. Only negative was parking although we were told where there was free parking it was quite difficult to find and we ended up parking in central car park over night and trying again the next day. Driving around Brixham was quite a challenge but we knew that before we came. All in all a good time was had by all.

Lovely cottage and perfect location, only negatives were very difficult to find parking although we did visit during pirate festival and were close to road closures so maybe not an issue at other times and despite being very well set up for little people I'd have been terrified having a very young child in the cottage as full of steps, different levels and very narrow stairs, as two adults we found the stairs to the loft room tricky and very little head height. Cottage is beautiful and well looked after by owners.

We absolutely loved Rose Cottage and our stay in Brixham. We have been to the area many times, and it was the perfect base to explore from and come home to.
We even managed to cook a roast dinner for 8 people (and two toddlers) as the house was so well equipped.
Check in and out very easy and flexible, and great communication from Sara.
Would recommend to friends and family. Great pub next door and delicious meal in Beamers.

My sister, cousin and I arranged a stay at Rose Cottage to take our elderly grandmother away. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was as described and we said we'd love to return, we wrote this in the cottage guestbook. Although our lovely memories of the stay with our grandmother remain, we don't quite reflect on the cottage in the same way for the following reason . . .
Several months after our visit we received an email from the owner accusing us of leaving an awful review in the guestbook and questioning why we couldn't convey disappointment to the owners directly. I quote from the email "I don’t think any other guests have been so negative about their experience at Rose Cottage, most find it to their liking. I’m very sorry that the author of this hatchet job didn’t."
The picture of the awful guestbook review the owner sent us was next to the lovely review we wrote, of course we wrote to the owner highlighting this, confirmed it was not us and stated how we would have loved to return to the cottage before receiving such an email. To receive a further response only apologising if the owner was wrong and questioning us as to who else could have wrote the awful review further shocks us, to the point we feel potential customers should be aware of the truly unprofessional and rude manner in which we were treated, in all my worldwide travels I have never experienced something like this. No one running a business deserves to be successful if they behave in such a way and I only hope this owner learns that it is wrong to assume and accuse!

We have just returned from a lovely stay in this cottage in Brixham. The weather was very chilly when we arrived and the owner had left a light and the fire on which was much appreciated.Overall the cottage was delightful and well equipped for a lovely weekend however I could imagine the lack of parking nearby in the summer could be a problem with children and beach stuff!!.....we used the overnight car park (6 pm-10 am) about 5 mins away..The cottage was clean and warm with a beautiful bathroom. We were 3 friend so had the luxury of a room each ,I was in the loft which gave me beautiful views over Brixham, its worth mentioning that the stairs up to the loft were very steep and there was limited head room ,but the beds were really comfortable and we all slept well.
For 3 friends it was the perfect weekend retreat .I ran on the South West coast path in the morning, the path to Paignton was quite difficult to follow and rather muddy, I managed to loose the trail in the woods so returned to Brixham and ran round Berry Head which was fantastic. We had lovely weather for November and spent a day shopping in the local craft shops in Brixham. We visited Dartmouth and were pleased to find all the facilities on Blackpool Sands still open in November and had lunch in the restaurant overlooking the beach sitting in the sun, wonderful!
The owners were very thoughtful and we had a few provisions left for us plus a call the morning we were due to arrive.
For a girls weekend away it was the perfect place to stay.

Really nice small cottage just back from harbour. Neat clean and plenty of space. Really liked being able to walk to the quay in a couple of minutes. We really enjoyed it. The top floor is tight but no problem for younger guests. My 23 year old loved it! You cant park outside but I was always able to park for free up the street. Theres a fishmongers on the quay fresh landed fish fantastic. Brixham was nice with bars, resturants etc. We used the ferry to get to Dartmouth would recommend it

This is a lovely comfortable cottage, very clean and well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and everything was recently decorated. We enjoyed being so near the harbour and all the amenities of Brixham. We were able to buy fresh fish from the fish market and very good fish and chips.
Brixham is only a short distance from clean sandy beaches and there are good walks along the coastal footpath. The children enjoyed Dartmouth Castle.
