- 1 bedroom in the guest house opposite with 1 bathroom (walk-in shower) and wc.

Lovely comfortable house, great pool and use of bikes was an added bonus. Location perfect.

We had a lovely stay in this comfortable house in La Rochelle. It was a , as described , a 10 minute drive to the beautiful town . It was spacious and well equipped including bikes which were great for getting around. It did mention in description of the house that towels were provided but in fact there weren t. We were informed by owners the day before we arrived. This was disappointing as we had to bring towels for 7 people and we were flying and the extra weight that entailed.
My main concern was when we were asked for a deposit if 1000 euro, again, just 2 days before we arrived. We have rented many houses over the years and the deposit has always been included in a breakdown of costs of rental of property and its usually around 10% of cost.There had been no mention of deposit in rental costs on webpage. The owners did accept a personal cheque on arrival which was returned on departure.
Another extra cost that we were not informed of at any point til we arrived at the house was a tourist tax of 1euro per person per day for persons over 18. I have no problem paying this tax, but it should also have been mentioned in rental costs. In effect the owners waived this when we queried it .
We did have a lovely time and the house , garden and pool were great . My main criticism is that the entire cost of the renta[ should be transparent and clear before booking.
