The Sweet Retreat is located inside Indian Palms Country Club, located within 1 mile from the entrance of the Empire Polo Fields - home of the Coachella Music & Art Festival and Stagecoach Country Music Festival. Whether you come to relax and take in mountain views, play a couple of golf games or enjoy some of the most impressive bands playing at one of the festivals, you are sure to enjoy the design and privacy of this 2,500 sq. ft. beautiful home. Oh, don't forget your pool stick and swimwear!
This beautiful Indian Palms Country Club vacation home is in a private gated community with abundant resort-style amenities and sweeping mountain views. Once the private estate of Hollywood movie studio owner Floyd Odlum and his famous aviator wife Jackie Cochran, the 640-acre estate, now known as Indian Palms Country Club, hosted many of the couple's famous friends, like Amelia Earhart and Presidents Eisenhower and Johnson.
Outdoors: This spacious home offers views of the golf course and the magnificent mountain range from the backyard, with a sparkling splash pool and cascading waterfall spa. The poolside patio has seating for 6, 4 lounge chairs, and a propane gas BBQ grill so you can dine alfresco with friends and family. Enjoy a glass of your favorite wine and watch the sunset over the mountain view.
Occupants of the Short-Term Rental shall be prohibited from using all outdoor amenities and/or engaging in outdoor games or any outdoor activities that create noise between the hours of 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM Sunday through Thursday and 10 PM and 8 AM Friday and Saturday.

The two guest bedrooms are located at the opposite end of the house from Master Suite 1. Bedroom 2 features a Queen, 55-inch HDTV, reach-in closet and ceiling fan. Bedroom 3 has a King bed, 55-inch HDTV, reach-in closet and ceiling fan. The guest bathroom is between bedrooms 2 and 3 with access from the hallway and includes a private restroom, shower/bathtub combo and a double vanity sink.

Management company runs this house and although thorough and responsive it’s very corporate. The house could use a deep clean and the owner had service people scheduled to come when we were there. We were notified of the first visit but they came back inside garage without notification. I was there with my 2 young teenagers so the safety concerns were communicated with no response. Overall the space, layout, game tables and kitchen were great but we were never able to get hot tub heated, you have to use an app for a/c etc and the front gate of the community gets backed up for check in. The other gates require to scan your license plate - we had bikes on the back the whole time so were forced to go through main gate each time.

Overall was a good stay. House was as described, host was responsive. My only pieces of feedback center around the overall cleanliness of the floors, and the AC unit in the house. The floors were bad, like turn your feet black bad and I had my pregnant wife, and two kids with me. One was an infant who was crawling, and my 10 year old. So we did not let the baby on the ground, and we washed our feet before bed (yes even after showering).
The AC unit was old, and the house functioned off programs. You had to preset all of the programs just to get it to a good temp. After setting it, the house never got below 78 which is tough in Indio. The host made sure you didn’t set it below 74 (mentioned multiple times in the instructions plus house rules) but didn’t ensure the AC worked properly. There were plenty of ceiling fans so that was nice.
Amenities were cool! Family liked the pool table, and ping pong. Fridge was ice cold. Filtered water. Plenty of toilet paper.
Overall for the price I got a decent deal, but wouldn’t stay again. The biggest turn off was the property management company pre-booking. I never use VRBO and this experience proved why. I had to not only list the names of all my family members including minors, I had to take a pic of my drivers license, sign a bunch of forms, get threatened with fees for using electricity, and consent to a background check after scanning my face.

We were a party of 8 ranging from 2+. The layout of the house, pool table, swimming pool, hot tub, ping pong table and multiple tv’s made sure everyone had something to do and able to be comfortable in the space. This was our second time staying and we would absolutely stay again. The booking process was easy and the property manager was very responsive and kind throughout our stay.
