Villa Miradouro is a secluded top of the cliff property with no direct neighbours, surrounded by extensive lush green gardens and a large 10 x 5 metre pool facing the ocean offering spectacular panoramic views and sunsets. Maid service is provided up to three days per week (subject to availability) to keep the property clean and spotless. The service includes cleaning, laundry, garden and pool maintenance. The property has fiber optics Wi-Fi internet connection with 200Mbit throughput.
The Villa is located in Faja da Ovelha, Calheta - south west coast of the Island, an area blessed with stunning unspoiled countryside, bird wildlife (binoculars recommended) and quaint villages Paul and Jardim do Mar only minutes away. It is a mere 15 minutes drive from the seaside resort of Calheta. The Villa is south west facing with excellent exposure to the sunshine, offering more than 180 degree panoramic views of the Atlantic, a lighthouse, countryside, coastline and incredible sunset views.
Experience absolute tranquillity and relaxation. Completely renovated in modern style with rustic features, tastefully furnished to a high standard. The Villa benefits from a swimming pool 10 x 5 metre with a heated shower, built-in BBQ with a large patio lit up for open-air dining. With an open-plan layout, the villa is spacious and offers maximum natural light, it also offers a furnished veranda and breakfast room both overlooking the sea.
Even if the weather gets gloomy (rarely) there is plenty to do at Villa Miradouro. There is a large fireplace in the living room along with oil filled radiators available throughout. A large 55" Smart TV with included Netflix subscription and YouTube as well as support for Amazon Prime, Disney+, AppleTV and other streaming providers is available for your viewing pleasure. There are many books for you to choose from the bookcase as well as a large selection of board games (chess, cards, family games, puzzles, etc.).

The garden area consists of over 1,400 sqm and is illuminated throughout. Although the property consists of two floors, only the first floor is available for rental as the ground floor is being used for storage.

This villa is just sublime! Beautiful villa, absolutely gorgeous location, well stocked kitchen, communication with Rui was excellent with very prompt responses. There was nothing at all to dislike. If you like privacy and seclusion, with fantastic views, then this is the villa for you.Short drive (15 mins) to a few supermarkets. Jardim do Mar is a village only a short drive away well worth going to see.Nothing negative to say at all about this villa, location, host, etc. Just superb!

On arrival we were very pleased with the quality of the villa, the private and secluded location and the stunning uninterrupted views of the Atlantic.
However, we had a few issues over the first few days, which included cockroaches in the kitchen drawers, our bedroom, and bathroom. We reported this, to both the housekeeper and the property manager, expecting a pest control company to arrive. Nothing happened. We also reported that the dishwasher had stopped working after three days, and despite promises to repair it nothing was ever done during the next three and a half weeks of our stay. We also reported that the oven door didn't close properly, and were told to raise the oven temperature. This resulted in the oven control knobs being too hot to touch. The general kitchen equipment was very poor. The lawned garden looked wonderful on arrival, but a month later when we left, the grass was up to 1ft high in places. The gates were fixed open so we could not stop two local stray dogs using the garden as a toilet. As compensation for these problems, we were offered a three night stay at another villa, which was very nice, but we assumed the issues at Villa Miradouro would be dealt with in our absence. This did not happen. Overall, it seems to us that there was a reluctance to spend money to properly deal with the issues, although Maria the housekeeper did her best and was extremely thorough and helpful.

The Villa could have been a 5 star experience. The location is incredible with unbelievable views and the peace and quiet of a country inn. However, as nice as the views and location were, the condition of the furnishings and accoutrements left a lot to be desired. The bed in the main bedroom needs to be replaced immediately. The kitchen was appointed with the bare minimum in terms of utensils and the outdoor furniture around the pool and on the balcony and decks needed replacement. Although the listing indicated that the home had a clothes dryer, it was inoperable and although the housekeeper was notified, no effort was made to fix it. The towels and linens were rough and worn. Rui, the property manager did not return VRBO email messages concerning questions about the Villa, so there were some surprises when we arrived. If not for the incredible location, this would be classified as a mediocre experience at best. It appears that the investors are more concerned with milking all the money out of the property instead of maintaining it to be the stunning place it could be.
