About this cottage rental
Our cottage is located right on Lake Macatawa and just down the road from the Holland State Park.---Walk, hike, run, bike, or drive to the park entrance, which is less than a mile away or go 5 miles in the other direction to shop and get something to eat in downtown town Holland.
Our Yellow Cottage is perfect for family fun-all the amenities to make your stay easy--dishwasher, washer/dryer, two bathrooms, and a fabulous view of Lake Macatawa. There's plenty of parking for your guests too, and a 2-stall garage for your car and 'extra' items. We supply a few bikes for your use or if you prefer, bike rental is available within a few blocks of our cottage. Enjoy watching all the lake activity from the back yard and end your night sitting with family and/or friends around the campfire.
You are welcome to use the grassy park next door to this cottage which has steps going into the lake but due to high water no longer has a sandy beach.

The most wonderful place for our family. The weather was cool On Sunday when we arrived but each day got warmer. Every sunset was different and we enjoyed each one down at Lake Michigan. I was up most mornings at 6:45 to enjoy each sunrise. As the week went forward all joined me the last morning to watch the beautiful sunrise! Getting out taking walks climbing Mt Pisgha it was all wonderful. The size of the house worked so well go us. With having a 6 month old!! Thanks so much for the cute nostalgia throughout the house. Brought back memories of my sister in laws home that we spent many holidays at her home!! Perfect for us!

The good and the bad:The Good: -Nice lakeview-Local wildlife (super friendly ducks!)-Proximity to Holland and State Park-Plenty of sleeping space-Nice backyard space to relaxThr Bad:-Typical stuffy cottage issues... needs screens in windows for air movement or better AC options.-Listing was inaccurate. Futons were listed but were actually sofas. Sleeper sofas are fine for kids but the adults sleeping on them had back issues xD-Appliances need some work. After hours at the beach grandpa wanted to watch some baseball but the TV cable was out. Host attempted to fix the 2nd day but the day we arrived to the TV on and non-functional. The VCR combo TV was also non functional and listed a "VCR head needs to be cleaned" message. We also found a note indicating the dish washer was broken. Unclear if this was accurate as the host indicated otherwise but we didnt want to risk water damage if something went wrong.-Host did respond to our issues but not until late the 1st day in. Generally would recommend expecting questions or assistance requests day 1 at check-in time.-Decorations were cute and themed but not child friendly. We were concerned the kids would break some of the many glass trinkets and decor so we packed everything away. Certainly a fun setup but having so many glass things at knee level is just asking for a 3 year old to drop your glass vase, shatter your dutch blue stonewear, or crack your vintage milk bottles.
