About this house rental
Experience the pacific ocean like never before. Our house sits on the beach with nothing between you and the ocean! We hope to provide you with an amazing beach front experience.
Want a great family vacation place? Stay within steps of the Pacific Ocean in one of Oregon's premier beach towns. This sleepy little beach town is great for family get-togethers or romantic weekends. Come and enjoy the beauty! Our house is located directly in front of Haystack Rock in Pacific City, Kiwanda Shores development. Perfect Family house, remodeled recently.
Sit on the deck and watch the kids surf, or walk directly to the water for a swim. Sweeping 180 degree panoramic views of Porter Point to the south, Haystack rock right in front and Cape Kiwanda and the giant dune to the north. Numerous activities in Pacific City, or no activity at all - it's an easy place to just relax on the deck and watch the ocean. Just a short walk up the beach to the famous Pelican Brewery.
A few notes:
We performed a major remodel of the kitchen winter 23/24. The kitchen pictures reflect the remodel. We also added air conditioning with 3 minisplits.
No Smoking inside or near the house - we like clean smelling beach and ocean. This is not your grandma's beach house - but not party central either! Although we rent out our house, it is also our own personal beach house that we stay at often as well.
Strict no pets policy. We have family members and many guests allergic to dogs. So please no pets, even on a visiting for the day basis.
Campfires - County regulations currently allow campfires on the ocean side of the sand dune. You may not burn driftwood or vegetation.

PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee sunny weather or a clear view of the ocean. While our house IS located on the front row - with nothing but sand between you and the ocean - the winter winds can reach up to 100 mi/hr creating a sand berm in front of all the houses. Most of the time we are able to shovel the sand out of the way, making for a perfect view of the ocean from the house. But other times, we have storms moving in and out - especially in the winter months - pushing the sand, blocking the view. This can occur overnight, so its difficult to keep it clear 100% of the time.
Fees - We have many people ask about the fees. The service fee is a fee VRBO charges directly to you, we do not collect that fee. The stay tax is a county tax that VRBO also collects directly from you. Unfortunately these fees are unavoidable.
** Our cleaners adhere to CDC recommended cleaning protocols for everyone's safety. We actually pay our cleaners $225 to clean the house. Our cleaners are paid a living wage that allows them to support their families.
A beautiful place - for having fun with family and friends!
We have three exterior security cameras. There is a camera above each door to the deck. They point downwards for security when the property is vacant. These cameras are turned OFF during your stay. We also have a ring doorbell which covers the entryway and part of the driveway. This camera is always on.

The home was very clean and well appointed with most anything you would need during your stay. The host was easily accessible and typically responded quickly to any communication.The view is stunning, but they need to do a better job of cleaning the windows both inside and out. The French doors had face prints on the inside, and the exterior windows were quite dirty, which probably goes hand-in-hand with the location. But my partner washed them down and they were fine, so that would be a nice touch. Also, it would be great if there was a storage area where they could put all the extra things around the house. There are no closets that are fully usable to unpack and store your luggage, instead they are full of things like beach chairs, large Rubbermaid tubs, high chairs, driftwood, etc.The one thing they must fix, though, are the blinds, they were a nuisance to operate. Luckily, we found tape on the inside of the blinds that previous guests used to roll them up and tape them open. Otherwise the blinds would be blocking 50% or more of the windows.These are just a few little quirks. But overall, the house really truly is comfortable, clean, and in a great location with easy access to the beach which you can walk all the way down to restaurants, a coffee shop and shopping.

This is a great house only one set back…the sand was not removed on the deck and blocked the view of the ocean:(
