The location was outstanding, surrounded by countless tapas bars and restaurants, within easy walking distance. One tapas bar was immediately acctoss the road from the apartment. The major sights were also close by and easy to get to. The old town of Murcia is very attractive, with lovely squares and floral displays. The sitting room and kitchen were attractively decorated and well equipped

We arrived at the apartment after a long journey on a very hot day. When we entered the apartment we found that it had not been cleaned and that the previous occupants had left it in a pretty disgusting state, with unwashed crockery on the countertops, used towels thrown around the apartment etc. On contacting the owner, cleaners were notified and arrived within 1/2 an hour and cleaned up the mess while we waited. When we went into the bedroom at the front of the property it became immediately obvious that the apartment was not soundproofed. I contacted the owner who stated that the apartment was sound proofed and very quiet. This was not the case. Any soundproofing that the owner maintains is present is simply not effective - especially on Friday & Saturday nights. We usually stay in city centre locations and soundproofing is essential for us. If we had known that the street noise could be clearly heard inside we would never have booked this apartment. The bedrooms were very sparsely furnished, although the beds and pillows were comfortable. The room at the back did not have a wardrobe, just a hanging rack and no drawers for storage. The "window" looked out onto the utility room. The bathroom was o.k, but the shower was overcomplicated and the toilet seat was loose. Apart from our initial contact regarding the lack of cleaning, soundproofing, and to find out the WiFi code (which should have been provided), we had no further contact, even to check that everything was OK.
