宿坊 窪之坊 Temple Lodging

We loved our stay. It was very relaxing to be up in the mountains in beautiful architecture. The service was great, despite the language barrier - they helped with looking at bus and massages, and helping me with my pronunciation for a wedding speech. The food was delicious and very filling - the best tofu and miso (homemade) that we've ever had! Loved the fresh cherry mochi too. We were worried that it wouldn't be filling as we generally eat a lot of meat. Great to have a public bath with robes, toiletries and towels. We explored the other temple accommodation nearby, and they were very touristy and charged for temple visits etc. This one was not touristy at all and was well-run by the family. We would love to come back

La comida deliciosa, muy basta. También nos ofrecieron comida occidental pero preferimos seguir con la comida japonesa que estaba increíble! La atención es extraordinaria, te hacen sentir muy bienvenido y atendido y todo lo hacen con mucho cariño. El lugar está super limpio. La habitación es preciosa. Nos permitieron acompañar el servicio de oración matutina en el templo, pedir un sutra por cumpleaños, goshuin. Volvería siempre a hospedarme aquí, en serio fue una experiencia preciosa !

An exceptional stay! The staff are so warm and welcoming. We were thrilled to receive an upgrade to a very spacious house, which was perfect for our family. The food was a highlight: delicious, authentic Japanese cuisine. The overall atmosphere is peaceful, with wonderful, picturesque scenery. Highly recommended!

Le temple est magnifique. Les cerisiers sont les plus vieux de la région et offre un paysage magnifique. Le moine qui nous accueille est très sympathique et très ouvert à la discussion. Nous avons passé un super moment au coté de lui et sa compagne.
