Temple Lodging Shukubo Kakurinbo

The staff hospitality was great. It has a temple on site, meals included and bike rentals

We walked from the ropetow to our stay. We were not properly fit for the steepness.

Very unique

I truly cannot list all the things I loved about Kakurinbo, there are too many. The staff was sooo kind and helpful, especially with our (difficult to manage in Japan) mushroom allergies. The chef was so careful and kind. The food was an amazing sampler of temple food. The garden was gorgeous, the tour of the sacred places nearby was so special. We went at 16:00, and we were the only ones on the entire grounds. The rooms were enormous and had a gorgeous view of the garden. (Highly recommend you choose one of those rooms!) The beds were so comfy. Really, it was amazing.

The only things that I could even comment on is that there aren't showers that people are free to use. But that was more our misunderstanding. There are shower stations in with the gorgeous baths you sign up for, and we didn't realize that was our designated shower time too. I took an amazing soak, rinsed off, and realized late that night I should have washed my hair after. But again, my mistake! Not theirs, they explained that, but I think I missed it.

The Atmosphere of Minobusan and at the Lodging is felt immediately. All of the staff was exceptionally friendly with mostly very good english. Juri especially was an immediate best friend for my wife. The Food, for being almost fully vegetarian, was very good and interesting.

Besides from a very steep hill from the bus station to the hotel there was nothing to complain about. So avoid heavy luggage or be prepared.
