Yên homestay

The wooden Japanese style accommodation is great. Tea is provided and water. Location by the river is very serene. Yên, family and staff are lovely.

Personally I came for silence and peace but it was a little bit noisier than I’d hoped. But these things happen and it didn’t ruin the stay at all.

We loved every bit of our stay! The location is ideal: a quiet area just 10 minutes by bike from the city centre. The host was very accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the breakfast at the property, as well as the one offered in the nearby community for an additional fee. The patio by the river and the yoga studio are simply spectacular. We truly loved everything about this place!

Easy walking distance to Hoi An while being out of the city hustle and bustle. The family were very kind and the little girl was adorable.

It was rainy season while we were there which we understand can't be helped but the he bedding and the towels felt damp to touch. They were also quite old and had stains and holes- the towels, sheets and especially the pillows could do with being replaced. We were in the triple room with terrace which is part of the family's home. There was a screen between the bedroom and the main living area which was open when we arrived and was quite stuck. It required quite a lot of force to close it again. The family sleeps in a loft above this room as well so we could hear them talking and moving around. Similarly, we were conscious of their proximity and did our best not to disrupt them either. We ended up moving to a hotel in the city which was cheaper and much more comfortable. We chose this place because we're vegan and wanted to support a vegan business. We were excited to have some really considered vegan food during our stay but that isn't what we got. We were arriving in the evening so we asked in advance if dinner could be prepared for us. Vegetable fried rice was the best option given to us which is what we eat in places that don't really accommodate veganism. We weren't expecting it to be our best option in a vegan homestay. Similarly, breakfast the next morning was small and uninspiring. We chose to eat in Hoi An for the rest of our meals. The vegan options in the city are delicious and there are so many! Honestly, I'm conflicted writing this review because the family were really kind but I wouldn't choose to stay here based on our experience.
