We really liked the property itself. The location was great, the surroundings were beautiful and the swimming pool was a lovely place to relax. The property has a lot of potential and could be a very enjoyable place to stay.

Unfortunately, the bathroom situation seriously affected our experience. When we entered the room, the toilet was completely blocked and the water was rising. We reported it immediately and a staff member tried to fix it with a plunger, but we were told that we had caused the blockage. Later, the same problem happened again and the toilet was still not properly repaired. We were told to use a toilet on another floor, outside, in another guest’s room. After using it once, we were told that we could no longer use it because new guests were arriving. The following morning, we were directed to a staff toilet outside the rooms, which was also blocked. We did receive a partial refund of around 5,000LKR as compensation, which we appreciated, but the situation was still very uncomfortable.

Our stay at Sigiriya Dream Inn from August 11 to 14 was absolutely fantastic. My wife, our two boys, and I felt very comfortable throughout. During the hot daytime hours, we could enjoy the pool or relax in the well-maintained garden under shaded areas on the three teak swings. There’s even a small workout bench. The rooms are pleasant, with air conditioning and very comfortable beds. What impressed us most was the family running the inn—they take wonderful care of their guests from morning until evening and even organize excursions, for example to Minneriya Safari Park or to Lion Rock. All in all, a superb stay that we highly recommend. As an extra tip: the pizzeria “One More Bite” is only about 100 meters away and serves really delicious pizzas in a friendly atmosphere.

The old gentleman who is helping with luggage and cooking breakfast. I think his name is Bandar. Our friend was about to leave early in the morning so this gentleman even showed us what he was cooking and we saw even the kitchen - he kept everything clean and covered, the breakfast was excellent! Real Sri Lankan breakfast.

Owner. He was really rude and angry for no reason. We booked 2 double rooms (1 couple + our friend), when we arrived he gave us 2 family rooms with 2 bed in each. He said there was a problem with double rooms and he gave us even better rooms. (No, not better) He gave to our friend a room in a first floor but going to show us second floor. We asked to wait because we wanted our friend to go to the room and get rest first, he started to show his attitude being really rude and unhappy with this. After check in before sleeping my friend texted that she feels really uncomfortable in that room and we decided to exchange the rooms since she had a long 11hrs flight next day). What was wrong with her room? AC didn’t work (constantly off and on), mold in the bathroom, broken hairdryer, dirty stuff - I attached photos. During the check out we completed about AC and the owner said this is not his fault and it’s supposed to be like that.
