Auchenhill Lodge

Sehr schöne Haus in Alleinlage mitten in der Natur mit wunderschönem Ausblick. Absolut ruhig gelegen. Sehr nette und aufmerksame Vermieterin, sie war jederzeit erreichbar und wir durften die Pferde im Stall besuchen und striegeln.

The lodge was perfect for 8 of us (5 adults, 3 children) to stay in for 4 nights and had everything we could possibly need for our stay. When we arrived the host, Leigh, had kindly provided us with a variety of food and drinks to help us settle in, which was much appreciated! The lodge was clean, spacious and private. It was perfect for our family group. Leigh introduced my Daughters to many of her horses which they absolutely adored! Thank you for a wonderful stay Leigh x

Only a small thing but the left hand bed in the twin room was very creaky. Luckily my 9 year old Daughter is a very deep sleeper so it didn’t affect her, but it was incredibly noisy every time she moved. Only having one shower and it being in the en-suite bathroom made mornings a bit of a challenge with 5 adults all wanting to use it each day. If another shower (over the bath) were installed in the family bathroom, it would have such a positive impact.

The property was well-furnished, comfortable and very spacious for six adults. We adored the outdoor space and the picnic table was amazing for meals outside. The surroundings are beautiful, we loved bird watching and watching the sunset from the back deck.

The location is a little out of the way and basically impossible to get to without a car, but we were aware of this before we booked and were able to work around it. The nearest grocery store is also a little far.

The location was handy and very private. The view from the lounge room was next level. the wrap around balcony was beautiful even though it was too cold to use it when we stayed. Plenty of parking.

The only shower in the house was in the master bedroom ensuite. It made it very tricky for our party of 7 to all have showers. The double bed we slept in was missing the wooden foot supporting the middle of the bed. This made for a very uncomfortable night for my husband and I, rolling into the middle all night. The house sleeps 8 but there was not enough seating for this number either around the dining table or in the lounge room.
